Formerly of Diddy’s Making the Band group, Danity Kane, Dawn Richard has been diligently in and out of the studio with Puff, working on his new album, in a group called Dirty Money for his Last Train to Paris album. But not only that, she has been working on some material for a solo project that will soon follow.
Recently, she posted the electro-pop/funk track, “U.G.L.Y.” on her MySpace page, which has her fans in a frenzy.

The song sounds to “rocker chick” for my taste and it’s FULL of autotune. Can she even sing for real? The auto tune is the BIG turnoff here and the rocker vibe ain’t hittin, either. Not a song I’d play while riding around in my neighborhood.

i like it. it’s a nice departure for danity kane, and falls in line with the vision for Dirty Money & Last Train to Paris…good look. Lyrically its CRAZY, she’s a strong writer. =)
This one isn’t new… it leaked back in February or March or so, but I really really dig it. I had it on a CD a few months ago. Love the rock feel of the track. And I like how she added depth to the meaning of “ugly.” Words like “ugly” and “beautiful” do not only apply to physical characteristics like so many people believe.

Like the song. Love the rocker element. The use of autotune is minimal and not that noticeable so i can dig it. Hate the “U.G.L.Y. you aint got no alibi” part. Agree with Black-n-Mild the word “ugly” is ugly in this song. She could have been more creative and thought of some other way to get her point across. OVERALL…..I give it 2 3/4Stars like they used to do in Star Search LOL
