lol @ 41!!!!!
MOST OF U PEOPLE ARE SOOOO SAD…YEA THE SONG ISNT VERY GOOD BUT WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH WHERE HE COMES FROM??? ANSWER ME THIS…HOW MANY WACK ARTISTS COME FROM THE U.S.??? IT REALLY DOES NOT MATTER WHERE U COME FROM…DUDE IS TRYIN TO GET SOMEWHERE, SO STOP HATING ON BARBADOS…NARROW MINDED PEOPLE
O AND BTW #35…HIS NAME IS JAICKO, AS IN JAICKO LAWRENCE
WOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA… HATERS!!
LET HIM DO HIM… HE’S NEW AND HE’LL PROB GET BETTER
PEOPLE PEOPLE.. LET THE HATE SUBSIDE… NO NEED TO HATE ON BARBADOS.. LETS NOT BE NARROW MINDED.. IF THEY GOT THE PEOPLE LET THEM PUT THEM OUT.. I HARDLY SEE ANY OTHER Caribbean ISLANDS BESIDES Jamaica Producing ARTISTS.. SO PROPS TO BARBADOS
R U effing kidding me! This dude don’t sound a damn thing like Chris Brown! Not a got damn thing! Please, they only bringing up CB cause this dude is from Barbados and Barbados reminds people of Rihanna! When you think of Rihanna you think of CB! Chris voice ain’t all that, but he sound a hell of a lot betta than this fool!
No. 62: Ain’t nobody ‘hatin’ on Barbados and you’re right, his lack of talent has nothing to do with where he is from. Yeah, there’s no secret there are a lot of untalented folks in the US as well. But no one was really thinking about Barbados until Rihanna came round. Now all of a sudden all these “artist” are coming out of the woodworks, and they all suck! That ain’t a good look! Rihanna’s ass just got lucky! She is getting by on her looks, sex appeal and talented song writers writing her some hot songs! But they can’t do that for all of them. Barbados is a fraction of the size of the US. So for every five lames here in the US, there is at least one with actual vocal ability! It seems as if the odds of that in Barbados is weak cause they keep producing these wack ass artist one after another! Rihanna got ya’ll some recognition, but the rest of ya’ll gotta come with it!
Black ppl are just gonna phase themselves out of real music. Learn to play an instrument for god’s sake. Our ancestors played instruments, what is happening. Folks don’t even try to play anymore. It sucks!
Why is that everyone from Barbados is jumping on the Rihanna train? Shontelle, Livvi Franc, now this boy.
This guy better give up. hes going nowhere with his cliche look and sound.
Rihanna is horrible. her voice is horrible, she can’t dance, sing and act. her looks and opening her legs is what made her a star and it paid off. We’ll kind of god don’t like ugly or evil works so she’ll get hers soon.
Someone needs to bring me to the whore house in Barbados for the ticket to fame.
What happened to my Trini’s i guess we Trinidadian stay true to our self and sing soca.
^^^^ STFU HATING AZZ HO
I’m hating because the Music industry is filled with talentless hacks.
I miss the 80-90s when people were actually talented.
Days like this makes me miss MJ.
you say R&B?!! most dumb asses song ever but “black girls” dont give shit about music cuz he’s light-skin, “cute”…. bla bla bla! lol hahahahahahaha!!!
Sorry. Nuthin new. Recycled ish.
Maybe am dum to ask this but what type of music do they have from Barbados? Trini got their soca, Jamrock got Reggae and dancehall.
If this boy and all those other Bajans wanted to make a lasting impression they would add some extra spice to their art that’s otherwise not usually heard of in the mainstream…..this will only hip poor boy in a suck full of all other wannabes. Worst thing yet…this sound is already dead even from the American artists. Bury it already.
Now I know he got talent. I know he got other flavas too being he from another part of the world. Mash it up and bring it hard!
Am out.
I luv it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He sounds like Chris Brown though.
Ya’ll stop hatn… he got such a sweet voice…I want more!!!!!
Hey, Concrete Loop
hoping you see my comment
His artist name is J-Co and this is not his debut album! He released We Workin’ in 2007 in Barbados so he is not new ..
lol @ these comments..
Thank you Concrete Loop
LMAO @ NUMBER 9
THATS THE FIIIIIIIRST THING I THOUGHT WEN I HEARD HIM
AND WE DONT NEED ANOTHER CHRIS BROWN
THE SONG IS OIGHT
N HE SEEMS PRETTY TALENTED BUT NOT ORIGINAL ENOUGH
Its sooo funny how all yall are hating….you all know this song is a hit and is going to chart well on Billboard. Just cuz you are all not talented and don’t know a smash when it hits you, doesnt mean u gotta hate. you should all go kill yourself, cuz you have bricks for ears!!!! Jaicko is gonna win, just watch and mark my words…..”oh yeah”!!!!!
I FEEL U #66…BUT ALL THE ARTISTS ARENT CRAP…U NEED TO CHECK OUT HAL LINTON…CONCRETELOOP, DO AN ARTIST SPOTLIGHT ON HIM
I heard Lil Eddie’s version already, and it was OK. He’s made better songs … as for this dude, I thought one of Will Smith’s kids decided to start singing. Boy was I wrong.
Rihanna has inspired all these Bajan people to get it now, Shontelle and now this “jaicko” … lawd I think imma start singing caribbean queen.
To #75…His artist name IS Jaicko. He changed it for copyright purposes. and this is his first major debut, as it is on a major label. Don’t try to correct CL when you don’t have your facts straight. Sheesh
ilike this song….
Big Ups Angel on this post. Why are people mad that bajans getting hype. rihanna DOES NOT influence all labels to want someone from B’dos. how ignorant does that really sound?
Next up my homeboi Dwane Husbands. Get ready ya’ll all i will say is he coming.
Why are yall so mean to this boy? Dang I never even heard of him and he got haters for days. Are these Chris Brown stans that are scared that this boy might actually take his spot? Hmm….
i agree with #62. yea the song isnt very good but the comments some people are making based on where he comes from is unnecessary and there are just as wack artists in the U.S like souljah boy and cassie as there may be anywhere else. I’m jamaican and i’m not even going to hate on Barbados or any other country who are trying to get some of it’s people some exposure. People are trying to make it somewhere and create a better life for themselves. I’m interested in seeing what other islands and nations have to offer like Trinidad and Tobago,Guyana, etc. Puertoricans, Dominicans, Jamaicans, have their mainstream exposure here time for other places to get a turn too its only fair. So some of the narrowminded comments arent necessary because it only further shows why people distance themselves from americans sometimes and why west indian people and particularly in this case black americans have bad relations.
@ MEL
SO TRUE & I’M AMERICAN MARRIED TO A WEST INDIAN.
IT JUST AMAZES ME HOW PEOPLE CAN DECIDE THEY ALREADY DON’T LIKE THIS CHILD BECAUSE HE IS FROM BARBADOS. (I KNOW MOSTLY BECAUSE THEY DON’T LIKE RIHANNA) SO NOW THEY WON’T GIVE ANYONE ELSE FROM THERE A CHANCE. HE IS A CUTE KID AND HE HAS A PRETTY GOOD VOICE. LET HIM GET HIS SHINE & STOP BEING SO IGNORANT.
AND WITH ALL THE WACK SH!T I’VE BEEN HEARING ON THE RADIO LATELY I’M GLAD PEOPLE FROM OTHER PLACES ARE DOING THEIR THING.
oh lord just what we need. more barbados singers. hopefully hes gone bring some talent because rihanna sure aint reppen barbados in the talent department. shontelle is the only one i done seen wit talent that came from there. hopefully he has some too
i’m feelin the music in this song…. the lyrics however…. they’re ok. iCan see myself poppin to the song… will it make no.1, idk. but it hot, its just not THAT hot…. but keep doin what you do jaicko [j-co]
To all the haters comments ..
NO ONE IS HATING!
and i don’t give a fxck if he is Bajan etc.
His ass could be samolian
shxt is still whack!
Just cause the people that stating their REAL OPINIONS instead of sugarcoating shxt, we’re automatically classed as haters!
And to all the small islanders that’s supporting his cause he is a fellow small islander
CLEAN OUT YU DUTTY EARS!
BLUDCLAAT HEDIOT DEM!
i kinda like it. he has pretty strong vocals.
he sounds like a more mature version of Chris.
Hey people…His name is Jaicko pronounced -J-Co not Jack-o..No.35….So he’s not TRYING to be a Michael Jackson or Chris brown wannabe,he just wants to be Jaicko.
I agree with some of you,I don’t think the record company released his best/strongest song first, cause I’ve heard much stronger material from him,BUT this happens in the music industry, many times artistes and managers fight for a specific song they believe in for the first release and that gets overruled by the Record Company and a song they (the Record Company)chooses is released.
We Bajans have finally got an opportunity to showcase on the “international arena”of the few who have been so blessed,Rihanna,Shontelle,Livvi Franc, now Jaicko,we have hundreds here who have been trying and are still trying to get that elusive break, just like in the USA and other Caribbean territories. The fact that it seems as if it is ‘THE BAJAN TIME’I believe speaks volumes to those artistes for their respective commitment and perseverance in the music struggle,if you detest the music or an individual artistes stylings, thats fine because that’s exactly what it is MUSIC IS AN ART,it’s subjective to peoples varying tastes and commercial perspective.
But the fact that you’re upset that they’re all from Barbados and that Barbados is getting to export it’s talent (or lack thereof) for some of you???? Come on now people…That’s so sad for us as a Black People creating Black Music….
If it sounds good it sounds good, if it sounds bad it sounds bad, doesn’t matter WHERE U ARE FROM…
Now I have to say straight up that I am a proud bajan. If you other guys are not proud of where you come from sorry but why must you hate. Young entertainers from Barbados got breaks so we hate on them? Maybe its your attitude that have you where you are. Whether they can sing or not isn’t the real issue, the real issue is do they have a good enough package to capture the interest of the music execs. That is not for me or you to answer but the execs. This lack of talent by the way just happen to be topping the charts quite often. By the way the next time you see a really talented singer, even if he is 4ft 8 inches and 320lbs, a mole above each eye brow and on his nose, and goes everywhere in long checkered pants you get him a record deal. My point, music execs do their job, choose singers who they feel can make it internationally and they havent fail with the bajans as yet. PRIDE AN INDUSTRY.
OUR BRAVE FOREFATHERS SOWED THE SEED FROM WHICH OUR PRIDE IS SPRUNG
By the way, next time anybody wants to hate, just mention where yuh from first and then i will speak on it
Barbados has much more talent I love J co this song is kool but watch out Dwane Husbands is on his way……..and that’s a star
Love J Co Barbados 246 stand up we a small Island but have the talent is large…………………wait till Dwane Husbands land fa real, and no one ain’t jumping on the Rihanna trail we just got it like that and who ain’t like that go tek a bath and wake up its 2009 Barbados time
i’ve got mixed reviews about this one…………..i’ll have to think about it
@ Mappy, first of all I’m from B’dos,i understand where you are coming from in regards to the image aspect but the comment about talent is not important i can’t agree with and i think its the reason why the music industry is in the slump it is.You made the point about the execs deciding ,but just remember that they might control what goes out but we the fans decide what we absorb and honestly all i see are a bunch of clones made from this “image model”.And really and truly if that is the case, they should pursue a career in modelling if their “image” is so well packaged.I find we in Barbados tend to be followers in the sense that we only are impressed with our artistes if they sound like somebody else who has made it already and and then we label them as having “international appeal.” But remember this,(and this is not hate)how is J-co going to compete with a thousand Americans that have the same look and that also sound like Chris Brown?
I like it..
To the Stereotypes, who tuned the vocals? Can one of you post the name of the “engineer/editor”? Maybe his email address? Or his contact info. I know the singer was not that out of tune, so I know the extreme pitch correction was done on purpose. Sadly, its the sound of “today”, and I’d like to know how exactly its done. Good shit fellas.
Bajan Boy u should be ashamed of yourself.
Where have you been all those years Jaicko was crafting his image and style?
you of all people should know the reason he stopped rapping in the first place was becuz he knew he couldnt compete with the thousands of American artist u speak about.
the harsh reality is that Americans do not embrace anything they are not familiar with.
so thats why all of the bajan artiste use Fusions to create what sounds familiar and to also keep a balance between caribbean and “pop”
To me what makes him diferent is the accent and the way he pronounces alot of his words
and dont talk about Image…this kid been had that bushy hair lol
I think all you haters need to fall back…and all the Bajans on here need to EMBRACE this fa real..stop acting like u didnt kno who j-co was before he got a deal and shit.
and btw!…246 STAND UP!1…This is NUMBER ONE!…a lil annoying tho lol but..i like it
not creative at all….ice cream trunk melody, repetitive lyrics, sound a bit mickey mouse 2009
@ Christian,i’ve always been there,so i know J-co was never a real singer. And that is not to say he isnt talented as i think he is a good writer and producer. All i was saying is that the focus in B’dos and by extension the music industry is too much on “image” and not actual talent.Everybody is trying to fit this “image” mold and end up looking like everyone else, and the last time i checked a “star” is someone who stands out among the crowd. So let’s be real J-co is just a product of the “system” where if you have a little money and connections and able to put together a “package” you will “make it” and an objective person will not dispute that.
hey fool his real name is JAICKO so do your dame research
hey fool his real name is JAICKO .so do your dame research
Jaicko was named after a bass player and that is his real name he is no wanna bee. I hear a lot of jealousy here. just chill and appreciate an island boy. We blacks dont get anywhere because we pull each other down and apart- shame on the haters. shame
Jaicko hasnt just started singing. He has been singing from a very young age. His father is an accomplished bandleader and bass player. Do the research. I did. google or whatever. Ask for christ sake.
Hey Islandbeat—My fellow Dominican. You took the words outta my mouth….Bajan’s not easy to understand eh (the accent I mean). My first trip ever as a little girl was to Barbados and my mom was my translator-and they were speaking English!!!!! All Caribbean islands have their unique accents but when people are in the public eye, they have to make an extra effort to be easily understood, take people who read news in the region, regardless of the island they are from they sound somewhat similar…
Now back to the music. Believe me Barbados got mad talent.Keisha Christian is very underrated to me, yes she is a dark girl but talent should speak for itself man! I have no problems with this artists getting a break from Rihanna’s exposure I would jump on a record deal too if I was presented with the opportunity.
