After signing with Ford Models last month, Kanye West’s girlfriend, Amber Rose is taking the first steps to her new modeling career – test shots.
Confessions of a Casting Director posted two test shots of Rose’s that were taken at Ford this week. But I must ask, is she just another pretty face or is she model material? A lot of people are saying she won’t go any further than some spreads with urban clothing lines, what’s your take?
I think she has what it takes.

Amber neither has the height — or, if I’m being honest, — the look to do high fashion. It’s true that the most she can hope for is urban and that will likely only be urban print. She might get into a Heatherette show but they’ve let Aubrey (Danity Kane) walk their runway as well. And porn stars and other people on the stregnth of their celebrity. To pray that Rachel Roy sees fit to put her in one of her shows is what Amber Rose should do. If not Rachel or some meaningless shock value appearance at Heatherette, she’ll never see the runway. Kanye could MAYBE pull some strings and get her in a Marc Jacobs show or one that has a quirkier feel (maybe LV since Marc is at the helm now) but she’s SO unsophisticated that she sort of robs herself of the veneer. We can clearly see she’s just an ersatz Kelis but she doesn’t have the ability to hide it. If she can do high fashion, Kelis wouldn’t be pregnant now. She’d be doing it.

People, look at Eva’s career. Amber is pales in comparison to Eva, though they’re in the same category as far as looks go. If Eva hasn’t done high fashion, Amber won’t. Think about it. Amber is in the Ford “celebrity” class. Look at what she has in the pipeline and that should give you some idea of her appeal. Spreads in which she’s wearing lip glass and smoking cigars with hats turned to the side? She’s soooo King Magazine. And that’s cruel but beyond honest and, well, I don’t know you…no reason to lie.

Models look interesting..they don’t look “regular” pretty. If she was just beautiful, I would say “no, she couldn’t do it”. But because she looks interesting, slightly androgynous, and has a look that keeps people on the fence..she absolutely could do high fashion. And I dont think her tattoos will be a hinderence at all. Omahyra Mota made it big with a similar hard edge look, so why not Amber Rose too.

Well Amber is curvy and high fashion models are skinny so I doubt she will book runway shows and ad campaigns for high end clothing lines BUT I think she can do ads for contemporary lines and such. I mean she is a pretty girl, let’s be realistic though she wouldn’t be walking down the runway for Givenchy or Chanel at her size.

Based on my ‘expertise’ attained from watching ANTM, I’d say no. It takes much more than being pretty to be a high fashion model – and a lotta them don’t have pretty faces anyway.
The first thing that struck me about her was her large head in proportion to her body. Secondly, though of course she is nowehere near ‘big’ by traditional standards (if anything, petite), it looks like she’s carrying too much weight in her hips and thighs to do high fashion/runway, etc.
Now, if we’re talkin about modeling for Sean John, House of Dereon, or some other ‘urban-oriented’ fashion line that accepts curvier girls, then i’d say she’d do fine.
Get real, Ford didn’t sign her to be a high fashion model. Never in a million years will you see this chick walking the runway of major designers. She’ll do commercial, catalogue, urban etc. type shit, which I’m not hating on, but just be real. I don’t think she’s pretty at all.

She is Beautiful with a short cut… Everybody cant still be beautiful wit no hair… so I can only imagine that she would be great. She is a little thicker than the average SUPER model, but still has a great bod…. My suggestion would be for her to try and shake her STANK steez and start dressing a little classier and she would be good to go when she goes in for modeling interviews and shoots… If she does that, then they will look at her differently and wont be forced into the “urban wear only” department. I like Amber Rose however, I feel she will not go past urban wear. I think she is a GREAT size but those high fashion models are about half her size. Maybe she can change that view. I haven’t seen her “model” and don’t want to pass judgement but I think urban wear is where it is for her…but if she goes above and beyond I will be very happy for her!
