Although she has been disappointed about the leaks, a “new” Teyana Taylor track has leaked titled, “Color Me Pink,” which was from the initial version of her currently unreleased debut album, From A Planet Called Harlem.
Teyana, now 18, recorded the track when she was 16 years old with producer, Hit Boy and the writing team known as The Clutch. She expressed via Twitter that the reason her album has been delayed was because of all the leaks, and that she was planning to rerecord this track for the album.

she has a long way to go…..and she needs to rerecord and change the lyrics because it does sound juvenile. she also needs to take her craft seriously..the socialite business that she’s in is not going to get her far or get her any respect

I actually like Teyana Taylor, she has a swag of her own which I respect. Alot of artist come out doing what they love or doing what feels right to them but when their records flop they transform into something or someone “commercial”. This young lady has stuck to what she likes, you cant and wont please everyone! I like her music, and I wish her good luck!

it’s cuz she’s thinking smart, and you’re not……if you can’t put an album out at the moment, you keep something in front of your fans.
Mixtapes, remixes, something….Trey Songs and Keri Hilson and Drake all did the same thing…dropped a verse on something already out to stay in front of their fans.
Usually I really don’t take time since most people don’t understand the music industry.
But seriously…stop blaming artists for push backs or albums not dropping…Majority of the time..like 99.9999% of the time it’s the label. If you knew how much calculation went into choosing a release date, making up the recording budget, finding the producers, putting the schedules together for the artist, etc…..and plus you record your album on the LABELS’ time..not your own. If only you knew how much was signed away by signing with a label, and it’s hard to say “well just don’t sign to them” because they have the marketing machine you need to make it.
And to POLITICALLYINCORRECT, her contract is not with her celebrity friends..her contract is with Startrak/Interscope….yes it’s Pharrell’s label but NO he doesn’t not chose when she records or gets her recording budget(which she just got a month ago, and right after, she got to work on the album). Yes she has celebrity friends but her CONTRACT is not with them. Most they could do is a feature, and even a feature has stipulations in THEIR recording contracts that THEY have to adhere to, if they’re on a different label. Interscope is the parent label through which all distribution/marketing/finances/etc flow. So that’s the big dog she answer to.
And again, because she’s on Interscopes time and scheduled byt them, she may have some freetime, and with her freetime….She has Taylor Made Styling Company, she’s doing styling, choreography and writing for two artists, Esther Dean and I-15, she’s sponsered by Married to the Mob clothing line and will be styling their photoshoot next month. She on ustream with her fans all the time asking/answering questions, seeing what THEY want, and giving it to them.. and by doing that she’s adding more people who didn’t like her at first, but got to know her through ustream and now those people fans. The girl is not sitting on her ass.
Look…maybe some of ya’ll should learn about the music industry just a teeny bit, and see the choke hold they got on especially NEW artists…cuz newbie’s have little to no leverage to bargain in contract negotiations. Then you’d have a WAY more compassionate ear to some of these artists….not liking them or thinking they’re ugly is one thing(I don’t like trey songz but i respect his hustle to keep stuff in front of his fans).

I agree that she is not ready for the industry at all right now. Personally, I think she needs a vocal trainer and someone to tell her to quit posing on the internet with her little ta-ta’s out…NOT CUTE. She also needs to change the lyrics if she doesn’t want the song to still sound as if she is 15 and not legally grown. LOL I think that maybe she just needs to stick to modeling or choreography..maybe even fashion…I don’t think singing is her lane.

You know whats cool about this song, there is not much pitch correction on the lead vocal, the backround vocals are tuned, but not that much. Shows that she can actually sing in pitch. Ya’ll just looking for a reason to hate this girl, this is a cool little song

@ Y’all Know It – thanks so much for putting things into prospective. It’s easy for fans to bet impatient, but once everyone is aware of the underworkings of what releasing a cd entails, they will be more respectful of the material the artist releases.
Regarding many of the comments made on this post, about the song, about Teyanna’s appearance (i.e. clothing, looks, etc.) and the people she knows – seriously stop hating! If you are not feeling the song or the clothing she’s wearing, then you should now take it upon yourself to do better. Get a record deal, put out a hot track, and look marvelous while your doing it! Until then, show the girl a little respect. It’s not about being on Team Teyanna or being athe president of her fan club (neither of which I belong to ), it’s about respecting a person for what they offer, and not hating them for “their” or “your” shortcomings.
I think the track is hot, and I appreciate her trying something new! She’s not an artist we have seen before, so to compare her to others would be a waste of our time; on the contrary, I always dug Teyanna’s swag, and I look forward to her album.
