The title track from Whitney Houston’s forthcoming album, I Look To You was premiered on Atlanta’s self-proclaimed “People’s Station,” V103 Wednesday night. Although it’s just a radio rip, you can get a good idea of the song, which was written by R. Kelly & co-produced by Harvey Mason, Jr.
The new album will hit stores September 1st via Arista Record and has been getting rave reviews from its listening sessions.

James Brown……… Let’s Celebrate her starting over, everyone makes mistakes. But it is undeniable that she is one of the greatest voices of all time!!!

Have you listened to the radio lately? If Whitney’s vocals are “shot”, then 98% of people out there can’t sing either. I agree her vocals aren’t the same, but you’re taking it way out of proportion.. You love her, yet you can say she sounds like shit??? Go somewhere..

Don’t know if it’s quite 98% but the vast majority of artists out there now CAN’T sing. I agree, I wouldn’t go so far as to say she sounds like ish but I think the issue is that it’s Whitney! People who are looking for real and true vocalists to make a comeback looked to Whitney to set the record straight but I must say she failed with this single. I just can’t wait for more material to come out b/c I know I’m anxiously waiting for the Whitney that gave me chills every time she opened her mouth!

This sounds like a Christmas song……BUT welcome back Whitney. I wish her much success with this project.
I think she sounds fine, just older and raspy, but that’s only because we know what she used to sound like. Anybody would sound bad if we compared them to young Whitney, including older Whitney herself. Let’s be honest, nobody could compete with young Whitney’s voice. Unfortunately she set the bar so high for herself that good isn’t enough and we are still expecting greatness. I think it’s time to learn to accept her voice for what it is now, she still sound better than most.

its not a bad song, i just wouldn’t rush out to buy or download it. the problem is when you have and artist like Whitney with such an incredible catalogue of music you want the new music to hold up and so far none of the new material does that. The songs sound like she might be successful as an adult contemporary artist now, and I’m sure here first week sales will be good, but thats it.

Wow…I’m so proud of Whitney for have the strength and the courage to get back up and try it again. I’m not so sure that recording this album was for her to reclaim her throne and the greatest female singer of all time, but it was moreso to show that she’s ok, she’s healthy, and she’s in a GOOD place. No, her voice is not what it once was and it will never be that again but she has solidified her place in music history already. I’ll support Whitney forever and I have the faith that she will be just fine!

This song is the truth! Whitney sounds amazing and i would put this up against any junk on radio today and it will surpass those. Go Whitney. I’m so proud of you. I heard it for the first time this morning on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and I must say that I love Whitney and her music. The song is a nice and beautiful song and it’s great for her but I was expecting her vocals to better than that. I was in my car just waiting for her to just bust out and SANG!!!!.
