Is Alicia Keys cold? It’s July… is it still cold in New York? I don’t know, I live in the south, but a sweater under a leather jacket?! As usual, she’s gorgeous and everyone looks great (especially Vivica), but sweaters and leather in July?

I can not for the life of me understand why Whitney sound as good as she did DURING her “problems” but lose her voice after discontinuing her drug abuse.

That song is crazy, it isn’t Whitney, she’s tripping over her false teeth when she singing, the song has no climax, no crescendo, it’s the same tempo all the way through because she can’t hit those notes anymore, it’s sad. She picked that song so she wouldn’t have to go through what Mariah went through at the Michael Jackson memorial, while she is promoting her album with these tv performances. It’s just sad.

I heard she had surgery on the nodules….which is why she went through the slump where even her speaking voice sounded slurred…We may be surprised by her singing voice, as even her speaking voice has cleared up and become crisp again.

Here’s the deal, WHITNEY HOUSTON WILL NEVER SOUND THE WAY SHE USED TO. What singer sounds exactly as she did 20 years ago? Aretha? Mariah? Patti? Anita Baker? Stephanie Mills? The voice, especially natural untrained voices, don’t last with pitch and placement. Perhaps one of the only, Gladys Knight, but she always sang in a lower register. Having said that, WHITNEY will be fine. She won’t sustain (hold) notes the same way or at the top of her voice–she’ll probably run from some notes, talk through some parts, but the point is SHE IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE a brilliant singer/stylist. If she was starting out NOW with this voice she’d still sing Ciara, Janet, Kerri hilson, Alica Keys, and most likely Beyonce’ under the table. If not only for her sense of being able to deliever a story through song. SHE IS THE REAL DEAL. WILL ALWAYS BE. Even with an aging and damaged instrument. I’m pulling for you WHIT!

Everyone is so harsh on her single, but you have to realize that it was supposed to be a stripped down song exposing herself. Like other people have put on here, if you listen to any of the other songs that are going to be on her album you’ll realize that although her voice may not be 100% where it was, it is still a force to be reckoned with among many other artists in terms of vocals. There is no need for hate, this woman has been through enough, we should be supporting her. I know i’ll be buying that album for sure.

Whitney Whitney! I’m so excited. I think “I didn’t know my own strength” sounds great, and i heard the unfinished version. I know once I hear the finished version I’m going to LOVE it. The lyrics are so inspirational. You go, Whitney! You fell down but you picked yourself up, with the help of God. I’m so proud of you. And its funny how people are saying that the legendary WH’s voice sounds horrible, but they are probably the same ones who worship some of those no-talented artists we have today whose voices have to be computer enhanced. shame. Whitney is coming back to show all them what real singing is. I do not expect Whit’s voice to sound like it did on “Where do broken hearts go” but this woman is so talented, I think the album will still blow me away.
