Some of you may remember us posting some behind the scenes photos of Teairra Mari dressed up as Michael Jackson for her Alter Ego shoot two weeks ago. Sadly, the same day we posted those photos, the legendary MJ passed away.
Photographer Derek Blanks released the final version of the photo via his twitter page, stating:
This is a tribute to Michael Jackson shot the day before his death for my alter ego series of Teairra Mari.
He was one of a kind.

Her MJ impression is so lack luster. Ola Ray isn’t as bad. Overall, I give it a thumbs down. Great concept, poor execution. She did it no justice. I think they should have scrapped it.

I don’t know how ppl are going to react to this once it is out there. A lot of ppl will not know that she had this concept BEFORE he passed away. Some will not think she is an established enough or talented enough artist to pay a real tribute to him. We’ll shall see . . .

How do you specify which celebs know this and that? If I didn’t know any better I’d say you know something yourself. If I were to become a celeb would you name me as one of those people that is in the know? I had know clue on when MJ was going to die nor do I know anything about what you are talking about. So how will celebs know, you know they are regular people like the rest of us, right? I must ask you, do you know exactly when the world will end? How do people really know its going to be in 2012?

The execution was bad… and I think that is why people r upset/hating… i dont know why Dereck didnt just keep the theater setting… the house setting threw everything off… there is no 80s/vintage feel… which I believe made the thriller iconic in its day: it really captured the 80s look n feel… also, the modeling on Tierra part made for a bad photo… they should have done alot more takes… and played on other settings… great concept tho!
