I know that no one wants to say anything remotely negative and I, along with most, LOVE LOVE LOVE the Obamas, but the girls’ hair does not look good. I’m gonna say that it’s all b/c this is summer break and they swim a lot. Let’s see what happens when the school year starts back up! LOL! Beautiful family and the girls really are cute! So proud!

Actually Sasha looks just like her grandmother from Ghana.
Her grandmother has a really round face and apparently, very strong genes because Sasha looks like neither Michelle nor Barack. Sasha has West Africa written all over her and she is sooo pretty.

They are children let them be just that! They play, they run, and whatever else kids do and they probably just got off a flight! If they aren’t obsessed with their looks like the rest of the world let them be free and comfortable. They have plenty of years ahead before they need to start being picked apart. We all know their parents have taught them how to clean up nicely. Love the First family!

Sasha hair is braided up up in twists, so she wouldn’t need to comb it. I know some would preffer for the kids to look what is deemed “sociabley” neat and proper meaning straight hair, but I don’t think that’s the right message to be sending out to other countrys looking at us now, that the first black family would preffer to indulge in semi self hating behavior like trying to hide kinkey hair. It is what it is. She don’t allways have to have a perm.

I dont mind that Malia has braids, it’s summer time…. she seems like she’s going to be a child out of the 70s….she’s cool like her daddy! On the other hand Sasha is all business and if she could wear her down she would. They’re both fashionable either way braids or no braids I luv their style!

I have not been reading these articles because I know that they will be very unfair and negative. A lot of ignorant people are already hoping that he fails just because of who he is. @19…thanks so much for saying that!! I was thinking the EXACT same thing!! I have actually decided to go back to natural hair and not continue to conform to what most may deem socially acceptable. I have had a perm so long that I really don’t know what my actual hair type is like. Thankfully, I am finding out. I’m not completely natural yet but I will be by years end and whatever I have under this “lye” is fine with me. I personally love seeing the girls without the long straight curls…give me a natural look anyday. That’s just real.

The government just dished out 1 Billion dollars for swine flu vaccines. People are losing jobs, houses are foreclosing, and food prices are sky rocketing, yet Obama approved 1 billion for us all to be vaccinated for a supposed swine flu “threat”.
