Never heard of the pageant before, but am so glad there’s something positive like this these little girls can be a part of! We need more of this and less booty booty butt cheeks & coonery from BET.

This is a really great cause! Letting our young black sisters know that they are beautiful. And might I add, Lisa Raye is still looking good!

I have a problem with these Little Miss African Pagents etc., it’s like, why can’t they compete against whites? Why does it need to be seperate?

Lol. “Self-sufficient leaders of Tomorrow”? Yeah alright. “Self-sufficient” is codeword for “Quasi-L*sbian Feminist that worships the Educational and Paper Money System”. “Leaders of Tomorrow” is codeword for “Pawns of the White Man” . There is not one black woman that can or will lead a damn thing unless given authority by the white man. Spare me please. Instead of teaching these young women how to be beneficial to their people, they instead prefer to teach them how to be beneficial to themselves. Nothing but a training ground for young black girls to end up looking for a “good white man” to marry, or another black woman to develop a “relationship” with, after they go through the indoctrination known as the school system and are seduced into believing that black men are beneath them.

Dang, I think someone believes this is Media Fake Out with the ‘baiting’ comment.
I am glad to see the support of the celebrities involved. It’s so refreshing to see attention being paid to our young girls because the images out there are frightening! Public speaking, self esteem and global knowledge is what is needed in order to make it in this world and be the future leaders of tomorrow and sometimes that is what is missing in some of our communities.
I love it when you post positive stuff like this!

Cracking up lauhing at Judah. Hilarious.

I helped with this event and these girls are wonderful and the people that help behind the scenes are great. They met on Saturday’s from 12:00 to 6:30ish for free…just because they want to make a difference.

Judah is slaying me. Comedy.

@SIGH Lisa started this pageant to empower little African American girls. We actually have quite a few girls of mixed race who’s White and Latina mothers entered them into the pageant. Yes thier mother can read books and try to teach them about thier culture but what better way for them to learn about Toni Morrison and memorize speeches about African American women like Marian Wright Edleman than from other African American women. It’s not just a pageant, they learn about their culture, those girls leave with a new level of confidence. Last year they had one of the girls come in and her mother had no idea what to do with her hair, one of the group leaders did her hair for her etc. and her confidence level went sky high. Why can’t we have something for OUR little girls?

I like the idea of the pageant, but it seems like the focus is more on the stars than the girls. The website is never updated and you can never get in touch with anyone from the pageant to even find out where the event is held or where to buy tickets. The kids should be the focal point of the event and we should at least see the photo of the winner.
While this is a good idea, I wonder what the purpose of the little girls wearing half top are. Their pot bellies shouldn’t be exposed, they are children.

THis pagenat is a joke. Lisa cheats. she picks the winner herself depending on who she likes. She’s a cheater . She uses the money to get liposuction.
