Ashanti unveiled a new billboard featuring her childhood photo as part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s” BE GREAT” campaign on Tuesday morning at Duffy Square in New York City.
The singer attended the Boys & Girls Club as a young girl and joins the likes of Denzel Washington, Shaquille O’Neal, and Usher as part of BGCA’s new advocacy campaign, featuring successful Boys & Girls Club kids and encouraging every American to help young people be great.

just to add to my comment as a photographer everytime i photograph a white chick i have to photoshop their lips to make them fuller CAUSE THEY HAVE NONE. but black chicks I DON’T EVEN HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RETOUCHING cause their lips are full and luscious baby. you seem comfused maybe go look for a black man to s—k d——–k cause that’s what ya’ll white chick do better !!

and i absolutely agree, a lot of black people who are not celebrities also wear wigs, weaves, relax their hait, etc….it just shows insecurities and im saying this not because i want to offend someone, otherwise i wouldnt be here, but i think you dont understand that it actually looks disgusting and people who wear that are trying to be someone who they are not plus you would see a lot of black celebrities in shampoo / dye ads….i mean hello ?!?!?!? wearing wigs – what are you trying to promote.
basically what im trying to say is that black people look much nicer with their real hair and all these celebrities just look plain ridiculous.
oh yes – true a lot of white celebs wear wigs too but you do often see them without wigs as well. but have you ever seen ashanti, beyonce, ciara whatever without a wig ? i mean ciara even wears a short-do wig. now how ridiculous is that ? on the other hand, im absolutely not a solange fan but she looks way better because she looks natural.
i dont really wanna have any argument, im just stating my point of view, which a lot of people share ( as well as not share – otherwise you wouldnt see people in weaves ) but if you go natural, you look way more attractive whether you have short or long hair.
as for lips comments – how many of you constantly saying jay- z is a camel with terrible lips.
as for noses – how many of you are arguing and asking about nose jobs – just look at kerry’s post above.
as for colour skin – how many of you ( and i have to say a lot ) wrote negative comments about rihanna being with a very dark boy somewhere on a beach in barbados. half of the comments were stating that he is ugly because he is too black other half was about how she can do better.
as for asses – how many of you commented on ambers great ass.

here we, at least i, am talking only about hair and this line in a movie was just a “subtle injection” to make people see how other races see fake hair ( yes white people dont like fake hair on white people too and there are stories about this too )

I am truly surprised that Ashanti even does things like this. She comes off as being very fake and a b*tch. I will never forget her slick comments about celebs such as Britney Spears and when she got Punk’d! That’s fine if she wants to start doing some charity work and being positive but what kills me about her is that she really isn’t a good role model for the youth to look up to. Her career has been based on selling sex as well as many other females, she’s just able to get away with it because her career faded away. I think that Ashanti should have accepted to go to that college back when she had a chance instead of becoming a singer, because it did not work out for her in the end.
