Im always curious as to why some people are relevant! I mean, Janelle, baby, you dont have ONE song on the radio, and you’ve been signed with Bad Boy Records for 2 years now?! I see u do concerts, and promotional ads for this and that, but you don’t sell records baby! And that’s what pays the bills, so I don’t understand the buzz about this girl. And, selling records doesn’t necessarily pay bills…most times, artists (indie and mainstream ones) make more money for themselves of off concert sales than album sales…especially in these days too, when album sales aren’t doing what they used to do…

Haters Janelle Monae is beautiful and very talented. Shes very smart and unique a definite role model. Just because she isnt out flaunting her body around on every magazine cover dosent mean she isnt trying to get shine. I was at this concert!!! It was hot…J. Monae & Ms. Badu aka Sara Bellum did the damn thang! I would pay again & again.

Selling records typically doesn’t bring home the bacon. Usually, artist make their money by touring, endorsements, etc… Typically, the label eats up all the profit from an albums sales. So, in all honesty, Janelle might actually be banking more than some of our radio favs b/c if there is one things she does; it’s tour. And besides, what happened to someone just being an “artist”.

this chick does nothing for me. she is just a waste and just there. never heard her songs on the radio or seen an interview or seen her in magazines. plus she is so contrived and her whole look and being is just planned. ppl claim she is so different but she sure doesnt seem different to me. i think i saw a snippet of her video on concreteloop when its like a fashion show or something and its robotic and truly i wasnt moved to listen or watch further.

all she does is rip off of james brown and andre 3000, maybe thats why her behind jumped on tour with erykah bc maybe it was a chance to stock andre 3000.

she is a damn loser and her career will not fly or go far. she keeps wearing her hair like that her sides will be gone.
