Comedian/actress Mo’Nique arrives at the seventh annual Hoodie Awards at the Mandalay Bay Events Center this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mo’Nique recently caught up with Life & Style magazine and spoke about her 40 pound weight loss.
The Parkers star, who went from 262 to 220 pounds, says her weight has plateaued short of her goal, but she isn’t discouraged. “I want to lose more, so I’ll just keep eating better and exercising, and the weight will come off,” she says. “It took time to put in on, and it will take time to take if off.” But don’t expect Mo, 41, to get scary-skinny any time soon. “It’s still okay to be big, but let’s be big and healthy,” she says. “I had to lose some weight to get healthier because I want to be around for a while. I have twin sons who are 3 and a son who is 19, and I want the opportunity to meet their children.”
Next up for Mo’Nique, the highly anticipated new movie, Precious and her upcoming BET Talk show – set to air later on this year.

Mo’Nique has always been a beautiful woman to me even with her heavy weight.She looks the same now just more slim and I support her decision of wanting to lose more weight so she can be healthy.

Mo’Nique was just capitalizing the fat woman crap she was preaching before. She wasn’t foolin’ me. I’m all for teaching women to love themselves, but obesity is not a sign of self-love. It’s the opposite.
Believe you me, Mo’Nique will now find a way to capitalize on her new weight loss.
All that said and done, all that weight took away from her facial beauty…she is actually quite an attractive woman. Too bad her body has been destroyed by all that weight (ie her arms).

I’m so elated that Mo’nique is losing weight. She looks wonderful, short of a few fashion don’ts but that’s okay. This is great that she has seen the light and understands that it’s about trying to be healthy. Kudos big Mo, do your thing. LOL at these comments. Monique actually explained herself on a TV interview a few years back saying that she was just JOKING all about those skinny women jokes! She said that her “mom is a petite” woman and she does not hate skinny women. She was just emphasizing about being big and doing it in a sarcastic way. Monique does look a lot better. She still has at least 50 more pounds to go and then she would be healthy and trim, but with assets. Her face does look really nice in these pics. LOL at people saying what men want. There’s different kinds of men from European men to Latino men to black men to white men, there’s really no definition of what a “man” wants when looking at a female. If that was the case, many of the dangerously skinny or obese chicks that I see would not be married or have a man!

The Skinny jokes were just that, Jokes! As a slim woman, I was never offended by her jokes as fat people should not be offended by fat people jokes.. She is a comedian and jokes is what makes her money. The ignorant remarks posted against skinny woman are stupid. I come from a family of plus size woman but I chose to break the mold and be slim. I am very active and work out twice a week. Im 35 with 2 teens and eat whatever I want in smaller portions. Glad to c she is getting healthy.
