It’s Kelis! She was spotted out with her publicist/friend Tracy Nguyen and an unidentified male. The trio grabbed a quick lunch and walked around Soho for a bit. Kelis gave birth to her son, Knight last month.
She is now the talk of the blogs after divorcing her husband (rapper Nas) and receiving a hefty check each month for alimony and child support.

Thank God Nas was not married to her for a long term period (10 years or more) he would of had to pay her alimony for life! Nas does have joint custody of the baby and they are going back to court on 9/8/09! Nas is not perfect but I bet he is happy to be free of Kelis…although she tries to come off secure I think she is rather insecure about herself…hints the rainbow color hair to draw attention to herself! I didn’t realize Kelis will be 30 this month! No one knows what really happened to end their marriage but it is true that Kelis will have to share in supporting the baby with Nas (joint custody) and her alimony is temporary 2.5 years or less and the reason Nas has to pay is because Kelis is truly broke and CA law states that alimony is granted to help the spouse in need to gain some financial stability. As far as the support being 44k that will be determined on 9/8! But Kelis will definitely have to get a job and that is probably why she is working so hard to get a another contract with a label because she will eventually have to contribute half to their son’s needs financially and take care of herself fully (sooner than later)!!! I wish both Kelis and Nas the best!
