GUESS WHO: FILMING SCENES WITH JULIA ROBERTS FOR THEIR NEW MOVIE
Guess who was spotted filming scenes in New York for a movie with Julia Roberts. Hint: Her Oscar nomination last year made Hollywood take notice.
It’s Viola Davis! The acclaimed actress plays the best friend of Roberts’ character in the upcoming Eat, Pray, Love who sets out on a worldwide journey to discover herself after going through a divorce.
The film will be released in 2011, but you can also catch Viola in Law Abiding Citizen with Jamie Foxx, hitting theaters October 16.

I knew it was her, and by the way i just saw doubt like 2 weeks ago and Viola was only in the movie for like 6 minutes.. What exatly was she nominated for? I’m not hating but 6 minutes? she was only in one scene for 6 minutes and she got nominated? Help

DOubt, the movie, is based on a Broadway play of the same name. The role of the black mother, equally short on stage, was also nominated for a Tony for the stage actress that brought forth such raw emotion night after night for SIX MINUTES as you say….

@ #2 It’s not about how many minutes they were in a movie but if they left a strong impression. No she didn’t have a huge part but just goes to show she captured the Academy’s attention for her small role. Plus she was nominated for best supporting actress NOT Best leading actress.

Yes, Viola Davis was only in Doubt for about 6 minutes but the depth she reached to portray her character was extrodinary. For all of those that made negative comments about her earning a oscar nomination need to take in consideration there own acting skills because it is very difficult to become an actor or actress especially when your a minority.

Good for her. I am glad that she is finally breaking through Hollywood. She has had a number of small roles on TV and film (remember, she played the mother in “Antwon Fisher”) and is a really talented actress. She is quite a force and can really bring the emotion on screen.

The movie is based on the book of the same name. I have not read it but know that there has been a lot of hoopla surrounding it..
