I have loved Daniel Merriweather’s voice since Mark Ronson’s mixtape back in 06 where he sung Pot of Gold with a UK Rapper. Wale remade Pot of Gold but it doesnt sound as good. This song is okay. Cant wait until Daniel’s cd comes out.

I’m not sure why I’m commenting cos woooy this song is ‘old’ but it’s still great .I love the instrumentals and Merriweather’s voice. Anything Mark Ronson is involved in has never disappointed me. Ever since i heard Wale on that Valerie track, I’ve been hearing good things and he did well at the UK festivals this year. It goes to show that songs don’t have to be 90′s RnB or old skool hip hop to be ‘good music’ like it’s the only available genre that we should listen to. Just appreciate good music regardless of where it’s from.
I’ve been bumping this for months. Daniel Merriweather got a nice voice and the track is hot. Wale doing his thang too. If you wanna hear more of D. Merriweather.. look for a song call “Water to a Flame” ft. Adele. Blue eyed soul at its best.

Wale..another one of these new rappers who are good to only white ppl(ouch, did i say that…kid cudi types) i remember some real rap dudes from DC. it was pub access chanel and they were outside the mcds acros from Howard. they were grimey as hell but had serious metephors and flow. this was mayb 2004ish when i graduated HU.

VERY regular… Much like with Robin Thicke, folx see the white face, and then change their standards to ‘he sounds great for a white boy’… vs ‘this is great music’… Question… if this song was recorded by, say, Mario, Ne Yo, or any other R&B dude making music right now, would we be getting adjectives like “Marvelous”, or would we tell him to go back to the studio? This aint about prejudice, I just think music needs to be judged by the same standards… and honestly, this song is nothing spectacular… and I DARE it to become a hit over here.

This song is beyond old. It’s been on Eurpoean charts for about a year now. I could’ve sworn I discovered this song on CL a while back. Guess not…
