Some people win (Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga) and some people lose (Ashanti, Amerie, Fefe Dobson, and Letoya). And some people simply choose not to play it at all (Erykah, Jill Scott) . But Beyonce DOES play it. And lucky for her, she plays it well.

When Beyonce sat down with her daddy to decide what she wanted to be, she said she wanted to be like Diana Ross. So that’s the mold that was created for her. Lead member of a girl group that rose to solo fame. She sings, she dances, she acts. But she also took it to the next level.
