Eve, who is gearing up to release her fourth studio album, Flirt, has finally released some new music. She’s said that the new album, which was originally supposed to be title, Here I Am back in 2007, will be more pop influenced, with music much like her first single, “Tambourine.”
“Me ‘n My (Up In the Club)” is sort of techno/house-inspired, but isn’t slated to be the first single, which is supposedly titled “All Night Long” and is produced by Pharrell. The new album with contain collaborations with Timbaland, Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Swizz Beatz and Scott Storch, and guest appearances from Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and more.

I kinda like it but at the same time the beat is kinda abrasive. And @ Babycakes my ears do kinda hurt after listening to about a minute of this. Idk…she’s gonna have to come better since she been gone for so long.

Not very good at all. The only rapper who could probably get away with this type of sound is Missy Elliott. Its a shame because I couldn’t wait for eve to put out some new material, but not like this!

For one, the beat goes on forever in the beginning – she doesn’t start rappin’ till like 38 seconds. Usually I don’t really mind when artists do that but this beat is veryy annoying.

Don’t give her any kudos. This has nothing to do w/ thinking outside the box, or being original. This is about one thing, and that is money! Eve knows that she can’t make money off any hardcore rap songs like what she did back when she was wit RR, so now she’s selling her soul to make a buck. I hope this shyt flops, and pushed her album back again.

I dont see this being a mainstream single (note- CL reported this isnt report to be the official first single; just some leaked new music); but i can see it being a track on the upcoming album…

I don’t like the song plus it’s a total ripoff from a UK producer named Benga who produces a genre named dubstep which is somewhat popular in the UK.
I have been good on Eve for years, but this song may have changed my mind. It is going to do her really well as a UK release. U.S.A haters don’t seem to like anything different unless it’s Kanye, Lil Wayne or Rihanna. I hope Jay-Z killed autotune

I hate to see Eve trying to make a comeback by doing what everybody else is doing. Do you Eve, don’t sell out to the establishment… It just doesn’t work for you. Also, you may want to think about firing your hair stylist. I know you are paying top dollar but it looks like you are still getting your hair done in the kitchen… Not hating, just want to see you be all you can be.

The beat reminds me of the remix to Everyone Nose by NERD featuring Clipse and Kanye. I can imagine Missy and Twista getting on this track…..

I think once i got to :30 seconds I zoned out because i was just shocked at how terrible it was…lol…then once I found out I was still listening to it..I had to press stop to end my torture..Eve can do way better than this..I can’t believe this is the type of song she would want to leak…ew! and to make it worse I still have it in my head..where is my Maxwell CD I need to put that in right now…

It IS very UK… Maybe some of you all should check out those UK artist who do this type of music. It’s always great to know what you’re talking about or have some sort of reference point before making such disparaging comments. Personally, I think the beat was great (for this genre of music). However, I don’t think she sounds particularly convincing on it. Still, I suggest looking into artist like Kano and Dizzy Rascal. You may gain a new perspective on what Eve was doing here. G’day!

Techno & Electro is the sh*t ! i like the song it’s very different from the usual Eve. There is a reason why everyone is heading that direction it’s an international sound that many people can appreciate and it’s very avant garde. Plain old hip hop beats just aren’t going to cut it anymore. Kudos.

Oh wow…….. I’m very disappointed in Eve on this one. I can see the beat possibly growing on me after being force fed it by radio but the lyrics……those lyrics……OMG they are just young, hood, and trif! You are WAAAAY better than this E.V.E (Ms Pittbull in a skirt)! I always respected you for your rap style and rawness but “me and my b*tches up in the club” and rapping that over and over like its cool? C’mon chick, you can’t be serious!!!!!!!!!
