Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, arranger and producer, Brian McKnight is gearing up to release his 11th studio album, Evolution of A Man. The album was originally scheduled to be release on September 29th but was pushed back until October 13th.
The first single from the album is the mid-tempo groove, “What I’ve Been Waiting For,” which he produced himself. The track impacted urban and rhythmic radio officially on August 21st.
The new album, which is Brian’s follow-up to his 2006 release, Ten (although he released a Christmas album in ’08), will contain collaborations from Jill Scott and the legendary Stevie Wonder.

Guess I’ll go against the grain. I didn’t like the song. Reminds me of “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind.” He’s already done this before, I need something fresh that shows some type of evolution.

I’ve never been a fan of Brian’s music. His voice is too flat and boring for my taste. Isn’t he married to an asian woman?
1. Brian Mcknight is the closest thing this generation will have to Marvin/Stevie/Prince etc period.
2. He NEVER has come wack. Some songs are better than others, he has a “sound” and he gets lazy sometimes. He’s tread the Marvin Gaye, thing a few to many times in the last few years. But overall he has a great track record.
3. All of his records have been solid, from the first to his most recent Christmas Album.
4. No Auto-Tune, No pitch correction, no computer tricks (he’s singing the hooks multiple times, instead of copying and pasting.
5. Lets get the bullshit out of the way. He’s not gay, into shemales, or any of the other weird shit the internets propagate about him.
6. But yes he is an ASSHOLE, in person. He’s a pretty confident guy and that comes across as arrogance. But everyone no mater the color or sex gets the same thing.
7. I know people that run in his circles and Brian KNOCKS DOWN plenty of black women of all shades. So don’t get it twisted.
8. He has a TV show premièring this fall. Think Wayne Brady
9. He has a successful radio show on 94.7 the wave

Both of which are grown, as in late teens or early 20’s and he has set them up with Careers of their own. His wife left HIM, because he cheated one too many times. She got paid in the divorce; they remain close, going to her home back east every Christmas etc.

He was married and cheating on his wife with a man. Men who are in the closet have two things in commom. They are very angry and they can’t control their impulses to beat on women. Its actually very sad. People will learn that its easier on themselves and the people around them if they stay true to themselves. 1. Duh, no shit. Him and his wife Julie Mcknight were college sweethearts. They divorced a number of years ago. He did not “leave her for a man”. He sold 2-3 million with Anytime and did multiplat with Back at one. Dude was flush with cash, feeling himself and enjoying the heights of his celebrity. He got caught cheating one to many times with WOMEN, and Julie finally had enough and left him.
2. They had no pre-nup and although he never got taken through the ringer NAS style, she still got a nice chunk, Alimony etc.
3. Him and Julie still have a great relationship, talk regularly, and they (him and his two sons), go and visit on Holidays and when he’s in town for tours etc. She moved back east somewhere.

This song is ok – love his music but I actually expected a bit more from him at this stage. I like his jazz influenced stuff. But I am glad to see him back. He is the real deal and his sons are off the chain. Loaded with talent.
