There are some good moments in this song and some not so good moments. Vocally is sounds like she might actually be able to sing (I wont know until I hear her live) but lyrically she falls off on the versus the chorus is catchy though.
Heard this song when it came out and the lyrics are good.I like her.Her whole album is already online.Hopefully there will be some new tracks.

“Give It To Me Right” is one of the most annoying songs I have EVER heard – and they constantly play that song on the radio. Everytime it comes on I either change the station, turn the radio off, or turn it down – can’t stand that song.
The “annoyingness” of “Give It To Me Right” made me not care for Melanie Fiona or “It Kills Me”
This song isn’t bringing it like Give it to me right. Nothing catchy nor special about it. Bring it BIG or go home. And I hope that pic isn’t her album cover. My 9yr old niece could’ve come up with a better design. In this pic, she looks like some random girl at the gym who’s takin a water break…in heels.

I have her album which was released in CANADA her home country. SHE IS THE NEXT GENERATION of SOUL SINGERS. The entire album is fire so its not her material thats lackluster its what Americas gonna do to market her, WE are so used to music without substance that when a SINGER comes a long that can actually sing and has lyrical content worth listening to the market doesnt know how to approach it, but it seems to me Canada and the UK have us beat by finding talent in the talented and not following a format or formula

I found out about Melanie thanks to CL doing a hot or not post on her last year and I have been a fan of hers ever since then. Her voice and music is off the chain. I remember this song being on CL’s new music post either last year or this year so it’s weird that it’s finally being released as a single. I had a feeling she was gonna get pushed back again even though the album has leaked a long time ago. I heard the whole album a few weeks ago on imeem. and it’s great. I’ve been looking to buy it on itunes but it’s not available in the U.S. She is signed to Roc Nation, that’s right Jay-Z’s label. It’s becoming more clear he does nothing for his artists he’s just another Diddy. Brandy was smart for leaving Roc Nation management. It’s so obvious now Dame was the real force behind roc a fella and Jay-Z was just the front man since he was the leading artist on the label. If Jay knew what he was doing he would have released Melanie’s 3rd single by now. This summer was a perfect time for her to release some of her upbeat joints from the album and as far as R&B albums not that many were released this summer. The lane was clear for her to drop heat and get the attention she deserved. Anyway, I really hope this girl blows up and Jay doesn’t mess her up like Tierra Marie and Freeway because she definitely has talent. I also just don’t understand the buying public in America now, it seems like more trash is being supported in entertainment than quality. So sad.
