  9. PYTMissyouMichael

Finally I’ve been in suspense since the commissioner lifted his suspension.I knew the Panthers weren’t gonna jump on that bandwagon, their GM don’t play that especially since dumb ass Ray C.

Man #5 better be on his ish for real. Yeah he had the best season of his career last season but how long has be been playin for Philly? Right it might be check out time with Vick being there.

Still don’t believe the punishment fit the crime not when you have rapist, molesters etc out there getting of scot free.

  10. irrational rationalist

wooooooooo its bout to be some hatin ass white ppl!…yes!

  11. alexis

    I’m soooooo happy for him!
After all he’s been through he deserves a second chance!!

    Eagles loves black Quaterbacks!

  12. O Dear.

Good for you Mike! All them people crying about those dogs probably ignore homeless people everyday on the street.

You did your time now you’re free to continue with your career.

  13. Jamilah

I hope he has tough skin ’cause he will get booed so much. I wish him the best he deserves to be able to support himself and his family.

cosign @ O Dear. We have multiple organizations with global name recognition but how many people can name a homeless NGO?

  14. nick

im glad vick is back doing what he does best, which is playing football.
But someone answer me this: why is vick getting so much love on concreteloop, with everyone saying “im so glad he’s getting a second chance”, and about 55% of the comments on a chris brown post is talking about how much of a bad person he is, how much that person doesnt like him anymore, and how they ignore the fact that chris is entitled to a second chance also. Vick viciously murdered dogs, and chris brown fought a women ( and i say fought because rihanna told police she ti him first.) now listen, i support vick and breezy, i just wanted to call out people on here because of their hypocrisy. lets stand by our fellow black people when they face hard times, not turn our backs on them.

  15. jjj (the original jjj)

Fabulous… he deserved to be reinstated.

  16. Jamilah

@Nick…I held the belief that Chris Brown was young and for the most part had not had the chance to grow up properly. As a teenager he was the bread winer of his household and that sort of pressure adds to situation. As being a child of an abusive parent multiplies the likelihood that you ( Chris) will be an abuser. At 19 he should be not have his whole career ended over what happened. Thankfully Rihanna did not suffer life threatening injuries and he plead guilty so hopefully he understands the err of his ways. And young women should learn to keep their hands to themselves ’cause no one likes to get hit.

With that being said I got this from ESPN…

The animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, wasted no time reminding people exactly what Vick had done.

“PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Eagles decided to sign a guy who hung dogs from trees. He electrocuted them with jumper cables and held them under water,” PETA spokesman Dan Shannon told The Associated Press.

“You have to wonder what sort of message this sends to young fans who care about animals and don’t want them to be harmed.”

  17. Don't Be Foolish

How appropriate. Why? Because Vick will definitely soar like an eagle.

Okay that came out kinda corny, but you get my idea…

  18. nick

    @jamilah:

i totally agree. I believe it was an isolated incident and the man shouldnt be condemned for one mistake. now, if he does it again thats another story.

but what you quoted is exactly what im talking about. Vick and Chris BRown, they will receive enough flack from mainstream America, or in other words, white people. no matter what they do from this point forward, white people will continue to try to bring them down until it gets to the point where people dont care anymore about their past missteps. Of course the first touchdown or hit single will fasten this process, but still, white people love it when they have the chance to bring down a person of color. AMerica isnt as racist as it used to be, but there is still racism, and people need to wake up and read the signs. BEing apart of the black community, we should work to uplift and offer support to our people when they make mistakes. this is because if we dont, no one else in America will.

  19. Kyla

    #16 NICK,

I think abusing/hitting/fighting a human is wayy worse than killing dogs! Yes what Vick did was wrong but I don’t think you can compare it to the Chris Brown and Rihanna situation. People say how he’s “young” and probably “didn’t know better” and what not but he was what 19 when the event occured? You should know better when you’re 19 .. I’m 18 and I know better :| .. If you’re old enough to be charged as an adult for committing a crime than you should be held responsible for your actions and the “age” thing shouldn’t matter. I don’t hate Chris or anything like that, don’t like him nearly as much as I used to but I don’t think he should be punished for the rest of his life.

And I don’t think that just because someone is black they should support other black people when they face hard times. Black people who do extreme things shouldn’t be supported by anyone.

  20. Kyla

    Lol @ #19 DON’T BE FOOLISH

  21. JstBReal

I think its great he back on the field again because I didnt think the sentence was even fair to start off. Hes done his time so give the man a chance to redeem himself.

  22. JstBReal

#20 I completely agree 100%. I do believe we are real hard on our own race than any other nationality and its evident even on this blog from time to time. People do make mistakes, but as long as they learn from them and move forward, thats all that matters.

  23. JstBReal

    my bad I meant #21

  24. nick

    @ Kyla:

“I think abusing/hitting/fighting a human is wayy worse than killing dogs! Yes what Vick did was wrong but I don’t think you can compare it to the Chris Brown and Rihanna situation.”

hey, u are entitled to your opinion and i respect your opinion. I just dont see how the systematic and orchestration of murdering and torturing dogs is worse than hitting someone, male or female. Call me crazy, i just don’t see it. IT shouldn’t be which crime is worse, because truthfully a crime is a crime. All crimes are bad. All im saying if people can stand behind Vick, why not Chris Brown. Although they committed different types of crimes, at the end of the day, they still committed one.

And i do believe black people have the obligation of standing behind people who have made mistakes. God is our only judge, and we are no better then the person who commits a crime if we ridicule and judge someone else. People need to be more forgiving and willing to administer second chances. Im sure if it were you in some sort of trouble, you wouldn’t want everyone turning their back and giving up on you.

  25. Kimmie

Is Philly excited about this? Will he the backup QB or play another position?

  26. STEVIE WONDER

I’m glad he has a second chance but he PAID his debt to PETA and Society.

    But Chris has NOT.

Vick is learned his lesson and now it’s time to move on and I’m glad he is getting that chance!

    Well done Michael.

    Welcome BACK!

  27. me

What Vick did was wrong but white people wont allow him to live in peace. On Yahoo they keep using the word disgrace Vick. I’m like wtf? I’m just gonna say a prayer for him and his family.

  28. STEVIE WONDER

    @Kyla….

Animal abuse is worse. Animals can’t dedend themselves and to me there is nothing more cowardly than what Michael allowed to happen on his property.

And People need to be CLEAR that this type of behavior is a CRIME just like hurting other people. In fact people who do these things to animals also tend show a depraved indiffernce to human life as well so this is the right message to send. I hate when people try and pretend like there is some big difference. Hurting animals is wrong and there is no excuse for that type of stuff. NONE.

Making animals fight for sport then killing them is brutal and Vick was made an example of for those reasons. To send a message.

  29. nick

Hold UPPPPP. Chris hasn’t paid his debt to society? Maybe ive been living under a rock but has he not been sentenced to 5 years of probation and 180 days of hard community labor? Has he not suffered significant financial loss by the fact he hasnt been able to tour in the past 6-7 months and some radio stations stopped playing his music altogether? Has he not lost fans and suffered intense scrutiny from the media since the incident. Like really, the guy has suffered enough. And truthfully, he doesnt have to really “pay a debt” to society. GOD is who we should answer to, not me, not you, not anybody but GOD.

  30. POSITIVE CHICK

WOW! I’m going to support him all the way. Eagles are officially my team!

  31. Kyla

Yes at the end of the day they both still committed crimes, but hey – I’m not really an animal lover at all so I don’t feel as strongly about Vick’s case as a lot of people do. I still think they’re two completely different cases.

Lol well if I’m dumb enough to commit a crime then I can’t really expect people to stick by me (depending on what the crime is). I know of people who go out and attack people and then when they get arrested, the same night/next day people are saying “free so and so” – I don’t think people should be supported like that. If you do the crime you should definitely pay the time.

  32. POSITIVE CHICK

People accusing Michael Vick of animal abuse need to cut it out. This man served 2 years for something he didn’t do. His friends were the ones killing and brutualizing these animals and they were ones who introduced him to this sick game. Unfortunately he fell in and got caught by the wrong people. I forgive, and everyone else should too. He’s sorry

  33. Kyla

    #30 STEVIE WONDER

I know what Michael Vick did was brutal/horrible but I don’t think in any way that it is worse than hurting a human being. To be honest I hate when people compare animals to humans.

  34. gg boo

sure, everybody deserves a second chance. what he did was messed up and it’s not just white people who won’t be able to get the images of defenseless creatures being mangled and tortured and drowned. the same way when chris gets on his feet (which i am sure he will) it will be difficult for some to forget what he did with his hands. i think certain things just affect people in different ways and the line isn’t drawn by color. good luck to him and i hope he is able to find the silver lining and maybe be able to turn his situation into a learning situation.

  35. nick

    @ Positive Chick

UMM, Mike Vick financed and particpated in “Bad Newz Kennels.” HE knew what was going on. It wasnt the fact that he just was around bad people, he actually was the main person who put money into the operation. He knew what was going on and what was going to happen.

  36. tina

thank you !!!! my boy is back in the game GOOOOOOO VICK

  37. Leon

I don’t believe he deserves to play and its not because I am being especially hard on him, I believe to whom much is given, much is expected. I do not believe that Vick is sorry for the things he did, and I believe it is irresponsible for people to proclaim that he was somehow innocent in this.

Regardless of whether he deserves to play or not — he will play, that’s the truth. But he will not soar like an Eagle anywhere but on the field. His endorsement days are behind him, the possibility of using him in any branding way for the NFL is out of the question.

In other words, let him play, he has peaked and his career is now on the decline.

  38. Leon

The bottom line is that he shouldn’t be reinstated, but he is. The rich white men behind making the REAL money in the NFL never miss a chance to put a black man out there to make them more millions. While folks on this board are talking about the mad white folks who’ll hate him for his animal abuse, they neglect to consider the white men who will make millions off of Vick.

The thing people fail to realize is that its OK. Let Vick play, he has peaked and his career will only decline from here. He has been off the field for two years, while the rest may be good for him, at 30 plus years old, it could also be detrimental.

Also consider that he won’t get any endorsements for the next 5-10 years EASILY at which point he may be retired. So he’ll lose TONS of money by not having access to that venue. Finally, he can’t be used as apart of any NFL branding, so even that avenue is not available to him. Essentially, he is going back to work in his profession, until he retires.

  39. myspace.com/rapshirts

get ur mike vick shirts here $15

  40. Kyla

    LEON,

He’s not making as much money as he used to but he’s still getting paid doing something he loves – maybe that’s all that matters to him? He knows he messed up so he can’t expect to just jump back into football and everything stay the same (before the dog stuff). I’m sure he thought about all of this or was told most of that stuff but still prefers to play.

  41. POSITIVE CHICK

    @ Nick

I know that too. He knew what was happening, but he didn’t actually kill the animals though. He was funding the gambling, while his “friends” were playing dirty. Does 2 years seem fair to you? Come on I mean really. Alot of animals aren’t that nice. Dogs attack people, lion & bears kill people too. I guess they get a pass right? lol

  42. Ms. AKA

My God this guy repented for his sins! He went to jail! Let this guy move on with his life. These White folks kill me they did the same thing to Michael Jackson. I hope he does well with life for now on. I will pray for you Mike Vick!

  43. nick

    @ positive chick

oh dont get me wrong, im with you. i think the sentance did not fit the crime. Especially when donte stallworth got 30 days in county jail for killing a human during a drunk driving accident, while Vick got 20 months in federal prison with the big boys. but Vick knew what he was doin so we cant use your explanation as an excuse. lets just hope he learned from his mistakes and is a better person because of them..i stand by him, chris brown, and everyone else who has made a mistake and is looking to right their wrongs..i Just don’t like it when people don’t even let a person make amends. and thats what ive seen on concreteloop before

  44. Jamilah

I read he was getting $1.3 million for the first year and he can not play in the first 6 six games of the season. Now minus his agent and manager plus his debts he is not really anywhere near to what he was. He will never get a paid endorsement again unless he goes out and rescues some white kid from drowning or quells a kidnapping or some ish like that he will never be the graces of the powers that be.

And Chris has lost endorsements and his image is tarnished forever.

  45. ILIVE2SPEND

I’ve never written this much on a subject, but this whole thing still trips me out!!! It wasn’t acceptable what happened, but If jail time is based on this, if they visited my town, they’d sweep up almost every block and jails would be flooded!!! Is it sad that this happened? Of course. But is this the first time it has ever happened in life? Definitely not!!! Sometimes I think people value pet life more than human life!!! My thoughts and prayers are with u Mike V!!! Luv ya much!!!

  46. kaykay

    E-A-G-L-E-S biotches!! Woo-hoo, we’ll take Mike Vick anyday :)

  47. Jamilah

I think those who don’t want him to play are the same ones letting their dog kiss them on the mouth. Now that there should be a crime. Eww!

  48. Kyla

LOL @ #50 JAMILAH. That SHOULD be a crime – lol that’s so nasty, especially when people let their dog lick their tongue. Soo nasty!

  49. I want french fries with no french

I said it before and dammit Im going to say it again, PETA can fo’ so’ enough kiss my black ass. I dont give a damn about no damn dogs. I never liked them and dont give a damn how many of them mangy mutts got fried.

What people need to do is stop riding Blue’s Clues balls. Its a shame when people care more about the safety of some animal than another human being. Really its mostly white people with a couple of “okey dokey” negroes behind the whole PETA, ASCAP type stuff.

Anyway, Im happy for a brother. Glad he back on his feet getting ready to do the damn thing. The only problem is he playing for them wack ass Eagles. Damn…. oh well.

  50. sunlight

I am so proud of Tony Dungy and Donovan McNabb. Of course others had say so as well, but these are two strong, credible black men. Vick can learn a lot from them. The interview with JB was really stupid. JB just firing up the crazy white people. Glad Vick has a second chance.

  51. D.Marie

I have a dog and a cat and if someone ever harmed either of them I would want their ass in jail. However if he is sorry for it then i say forgive him but if he does it again then throw his butt under the damn jail.

  52. HARAJUKUBARBI

Haha!!! DEY KAN HOLD EM DWN….DEY ACT LIKE DOGS AIN G0N FITE EACH OTHA DAM

  53. Focused1

It’s good to see he has been given a second chance. He has served his time and now it’s time for him and everyone else to move on. Hopefully he won’t get into any type of trouble again. Good luck Vick.

  54. JACKTHERIPPER

    over some damn dogs.

  55. Pinkgirly

I’m black, so this is not a Race thing.

Michael Vick disgust me and I use to be his fan since he played for Virginia. The NFL is setting Very Very Low standards and setting a horrible example. They might as well sign KKK and Hitler. Yes that is how much Vick disgust me.

But that’s okay because we know who really has the last say so and it ain’t Vick the NFL, Eagles or the judges. “What goes around, come around”

The Eagles have wasted their time and money, but that’s what they get for making such a LOW LIFE decision.

  56. Pinkgirly

Vick deserves a second chance, such as everybody does and he deserves to be forgiven. But how can you support the NFL when they hire murderers, druggies and rapist and turn them into millionaires???WTF kind of examples are they setting?? And since that’s the case than we need to forgive the KKK and Hitler. This man is a fealty piece of crap and I have never been so disgusted in my entire life.

The NFL is literally employing Rapist, Murderers, gang members, druggies and STD’s infected @ss holes and it’s sad you all support this non sense just because He’s Black. I’m so disgusted, I mean disgusted.. I love football and the only reason I would watch his games would be for the enjoyment of seeing a Big Lineman crack his @$$

  57. #48, you better preach.

He deserved to go to jail, but I cant believe how people are still reacting to this. The police officers that killed Sean Bell got off scot free and the media is still pandering to this story which should be old news by now. That goes to show you how much America REALLY values the lives of black people.
