Platinum selling Capitol Records recording artist LeToya Luckett will be starring in the new movie, The Preacher’s Kid. The movie will be released on October 30th. Peep the trailer above.
LeToya, who will be releasing her upcoming album ‘LADY LOVE’ on August 25th, will be joining Radio One’s Russ Parr Morning Show Bus Tour, with stops in the midwest and Parr’s home market, Washington, DC.
Erykah Badu performs at the beach on Governor’s Island in New York on Tuesday night, as part of her 4th World War tour. Word is her new album, New Amerykah, Part II (Return Of The Ankh), will be out before the end of year.
The concert also included Janelle Monáe. The Grammy-nominated singer recently spoke about her deal with Sean “Diddy” Combs, whose Bad Boy label signed her in 2007.
Monae says her deal with Bad Boy isn’t the traditional label-artist kind. ‘It’s not like, artist discovered by man, artist belongs to man, she says. It’s a partnership.
He’s not involved in writing any songs or producing or anything, she says of Diddy’s role. He’s just like an endorser. He really loves what we’re doing as a company and as a group of artists. He trusts my ears and that’s inspiring.

Eve, who is gearing up to release her fourth studio album, Flirt, has finally released some new music. She’s said that the new album, which was originally supposed to be title, Here I Am back in 2007, will be more pop influenced, with music much like her first single, “Tambourine.”
“Me ‘n My (Up In the Club)” is sort of techno/house-inspired, but isn’t slated to be the first single, which is supposedly titled “All Night Long” and is produced by Pharrell. The new album with contain collaborations with Timbaland, Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Swizz Beatz and Scott Storch, and guest appearances from Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and more.
