Why does she gasp and sound so breathless with every line she sings… damn.
Some of the songs are cute.
    Its a very safe record….

  5. jAD0ReQUi

Love the entire album except Song For You! Girl you had me going get rid of that track PLease

  6. Nothing But Love

I cant wait to buy this album!!!! :)

  7. Nothing But Love

Angel, what do you think of the album???

  8. talked about it on my twitter. I liked it. Fave songs: “Call You Tonight” “I Look To You” “Like I Never Left” “Worth It” and “I Got You”

They were wrong for that dance remix of ‘A Song for You’ tho but we can save that for the album review. haha.

    overall, surprisingly good album.

  9. “Worth It” is my fav track, I really hope it’s a single!

The rest is ok, this album is past due though, most of these tracks would have been really hot two years ago. Nothing on it is really innovative, Whitney could have taken a few notes from Mary J. in that area.

I cant wait for the Oprah interview, Im counting the days!

  10. Creefer

    HOTT. No doubt about it.

But can she carry it live that the question.

  11. tae04

I love the cd my favorite songs are Worth It, Nothin But Love, Call You Tonite, and Million Dollar Bill. If you guys dont like A Song For You. Just listen to the last minute the long notes are fantastic.

  12. OMG Everything

I think the CD sounds hot. It will do good because its age rage, plus the younger crowd grove to it…two thuumbs up from me

  13. TheMan

Its a Hot cd, Nothin But Love, Salute and Call you tonight are the standouts. Im liking the added vocals to like i never left She has a very solid cd, except for a song for you, makes me feel like im stuck in a gay pride parade. But her vocals are really good, especially considering.

  14. JaysonR

Her voice is gone. Just Whitney is much better album than I look to you and her voice didn’t improve at all.

  15. Deontae

What a comeback album! Ms. Houston welcome back we’ve all missed you! This is an album that you can listen to all the way through and love! I’m excited for your return!

  19. hitnrun

Glad you all like the CD. We worked hard and Whitney stepped up to the plate and knocked it out the box like in the old days. Glad she is back. Feelin it a lot. I was excited for A Song for You until that track came into play but she holds her own on the song. Just glad its a good CD. She will get some radio play wit it. Hopefully it will be better live like she use to be. I use to love how she would deviate away from the original of the song and go in a different direction sometime to show off her voice.

  20. AshleyNikole

    Gotta Love Whitney!

    She deserves this.
    Wishing her nothing but success!!

  21. L.A. Lady

I wish lady all the best! She deserves this comeback! Gone head Whitney!

  22. BARBIE *THE REAL ONE*

WELL AM I MESSING SOMETHING I DON’T LIKE IT AT ALL!!! AM STILL GOING TO BUY IT CUZ AM SO HAPPY SHE’S BACK .BUT I JUST DON’T LIKE IT. I DON’T MARIAH HAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT…

  23. Nyema

I will be getting this.. I love Whitney and think she sounds good. I think with a little more rest and healthier lifestyle now, she can step it up.. And Whitney will always be Whitney..Old, new, boring whatever you want to label her..she is still that b*tch !!

I can happily wait for Sade’s new album!!

Now it would be a perfect world if the following would happen:

Mariah, could put her clothes back on and stop trying to convince the world she’s a black girl and get back to her Music Box, Visions of Love, etc days

Same for Toni..but your clothes back on and regain your individuality and start being classy and sensual, instead of hoochie and breathing all over a song

Lauren..could shake that Jamaican demon that got her mind and get back to making real music..

It would be a wrap for the so called “baddest chick in the game” and Rihanna.

  24. BARBIE *THE REAL ONE*

OKAY I DO LIKE THE SONG “I GOT YOU” THATS IT.

  25. JAZZY P

Its ok.Not for me..Maybe my aunts may like it to groove to it.

  26. TLD

Not feeling it.I wish the best for her though. She stripped away her God-given talent.

  27. revealed

I love it. She sounds her age and her maturity level. She sounds like herself and not like she’s trying to be something she’s not. I really dig the fact that this hearkens back to when music was about talent. Great songwriting/ great melodies… and if she can get back to her Killer live shows (LIVE being the operative word… not lipsynced or auto tuned out)… from back in the day, the she wins.

  28. James

I understand that Whitney has gone through a great deal and I respect her for coming back and giving us another album, however, I must say that I expected more from her. Everything on the album is very safe and kinda lack luster. I appreciate her playing with different styles and giving us ballads as well as dance songs, but there is nothing on the album that really sticks out. The voice is still there but it still seems like something is missing…can’t really put my finger on it. I do like Worth It and I Got You, but I feel that the production quality on the other songs are not up to par. Million Dollar Bill is good but its kinda all over the place and A Song For You would have been so much better as a ballad. Overall I give this album a C+…its good but I wouldn’t classify it as the album to really show us that she’s back.

I do wish her the best of luck with her future and I can only hope that she treats her fans better than how she treated them during her apperances on the “Being Bobby Brown” reality show because in most instances she was very rude. I hope that with her new outlook on life she also has a new attitude towards the people that have supported her through the good, the bad, and the very bad.

  29. hood_shit

only fuck up: the cover of “A Song For You”

    get it Whitney!

  30. Dee

I LOVE WHITNEY HOUSTON. Of course her voice isn’t going to sound like it did in her prime. But what artist does? Mariah, Aretha, Pattie, Chaka etc. Those legends sound good, but not like they did in their prime. Give Whitney credit, she had some downfalls but she has picked herself back up and she’s giving it another shot. Since everyone says that people in America gets a second chance, please do it for America’s favorite girl WHITNEY. We love you Whitney, we’re praying for you. I love her music. I think the only problem is, soo many of us have gotten wrapped up in the radio/club songs that are out today and we don’t recognize good music anymore. I look to you Whitney! Much Sucess!!!
    I LOVE CONCRETELOOP!

    -DEE

  31. Vienna

LOVE IT! WELCOME BACK WHITNEY!!! x

  32. Thatsuperstar

Get it Whit! But its like something is missing but I’m glad she didn’t go the you know who route trying to stay young. This is def for a Adult Contemp. Ceowd with some gems for the young folk. But where is the promo at.I know people will be cuttin for her. I want the chick to sell. Arista better have it on lock.

  33. musicmogul

my favs: “Call U Tonight”, “I Got You”, “Salute”
the oks: “Million Dollar Bill”, “I Look To You”, “Like I Never Left”, “Worth It”, “For The Lovers” (woulda been a fav but the chorus seems unorganized to me),
the watevers: “A Song For You”, “I Didn’t Know My Own Strength” (i was expecting a huge vocal performance at the end but got disappointed)

to me most of the songs have no flow, it’s just here there and everywhere

my real question is: wat kinda album promotion are they giving her? how u gon release an album before the official 1st single? where are any videos? the performances? i think they should wait til at least later in Sept to release it cuz they dont have their stuff together yet.

i love Whitney and she used to be my fav artist growing up so i hope the best for her and her career and i hope she continues to make music and dont make us wait another 7 yrs for another album after this. GO WHITNEY! LOL

  34. Jamie

If she kills it LIVE, the entire music industry better watch out! Just being real b/c the studio versions are always gonna stay the same, but when you sing live especially for Whitney you’re really able to show your vocal flexibility. I think she’ll surprise a lot of people that doubted her.

  35. GOOD GRIEF

    GREAT :) !!!

I can’t wait 2 c my WHITNEY on “THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW.”

    I’m really looking 4ward 2 it!!!

  36. Ziggy

I guess I’m the ONLY person who liked the Cher-ish A Song For You. This is a very solid album. You call it “SAFE” what were you expecting? She isn’t going to ditch her entire fanbase and go far left. She does what she does best.. ballads and mid-tempos. I applaud Whit for staying true to herself and not selling out to get a hit *cough Mariah – Obsessed*. She doesn’t have to dumb-down her talent to sing about “swagga” and “shawty this or shawty that”. This is grown folks music. All you kids go get Keri Hilson’s tone-death cd! Nothin But Love, Call You Tonight, MDB, Worth It and Salute!!! Str8 jams!

  37. Jr

I AM GLAD TO SEE WHITNEY BACK . SHE IS OLDER NOW AND SHE IS NOT LIKE WHAT SHE USED TO BE,(IF YOU LOOK AT IT WHO REALLY IS NOW) BUT NONE THE LESS IT IS WORTH EVERYONE GOING OUT AND SUPPORTING HER. SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE IS BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK WITH HER LIFE AND I THINK FOR ONCE IN A LONG TIME SHE IS IN A PLACE WHERE SHE IS HAPPY! GOOD MUSIC ALL OF IT IS NICE TO LISTEN TO. A SONG FOR YOU.. UMMM WE WILL GET USED TO IT I GUESS LOL! BUT I LOVE THE ALBUM.

  38. Love Whitney!

I Love Whitney and I am going to support her just as the rest of society supported Britney. We all fall but we get up and raise like the phoenix…….

    Much Luv!

  39. Ziggy

“This is for the LOVERS in the place..this is for you! To all the HATERS in the place I AIN’T SINGING TO YOU!” — Whitney Houston (For the Lovers)

  40. Jamie

Yall WALMART ain’t carrying Whitney’s new cd for pre-order b/c of their contract with stupid Miley who selling her retarded EP!!! They’re not releasing it until the 29th! WTF??? Walmart is so corrupt. Imma go down there and make a scene. This is madness!

  41. Nunya

This is so much more than I expected, so I am very happy. I guess the next thing I would love to see is a good performance from her. September 1st on Good Morning America!!

  42. M. DOT

I like the songs. Anyone who expects her to sound the same as she did in the 80′s and 90′s is fooling themselves. Everyone’s voice changes as they age…even yours. Besides, all you have to do is check out YouTube and you will see the great many performances, interviews, etc. Whitney has done over the years. And, that is only a fraction of what she has done. All of that will put a strain on anyone’s voice over time. We need to be grateful and appreciate the fact that she is blessing us with more of her voice and musical talent. Good for her…and good for us! ;-) As far as I’m concerned, Whitney has already put her stamp on the music industry and this is just icing on the cake. Thanks Whitney!

  43. kapyophi

“Call You Tonight” “I Look To You” “Salute”, “Million Dollar Bill” “Worth It” and “I Got You” are my favorites.
if she releases all of these she will definitely have at least 3 #1s.
    Way to go Whitney!
Look for that Million Dollar Video to drop this week as well. They have pics from it posted also!
    Hot Hot Hot!

  44. It's Pretty Cool

I think it’s pretty cool. Now I am a diehard Whitney fan, and I say in love that the album is playing it pretty safe. But they know what they’re doing, a few drops of water will taste like a never ending fresh stream to a thirsty man. And lets face it, most of us are thirsty for us some Whitney. I think this is the prelude to the second more significant cd which I predict will come within a year of this one.

  45. Love Me Some Whitney

Glad that this is the road that she took for her comeback album. I love the material, she has been through too much and fought too hard to get back on track to fall prey to little booty shaking, insignificant, autotune, joints that are hijacking our radios today. My favs are, Mill Doll Bill, Like Never Left, Nothing but love, Call u tonight…. shoot just about all the mid tempo songs. Go Whit.

  46. Tarik

    MDB: A-
    ILTY: A
NBL: A+ (absolutely love it, FIYAH. Rousing as hell.)
    CYT: A
    Salute: A+++++++
    LINL: A-
    ASFY: A (stunning)
    WORTH IT: A++ (gorgeous song)
    IGY: B
    FTL: B
    IDKMOS: C

    Overall Grade(s):

    Album: A
    Whitney’s vocals: A
Note: Salute is absolutely SICK… there are no words.

  47. Missy

the cd is just ok, nice vocals, but nothing compared to her GOD Rendering notes on Greatest love of all, SAving all my love, One MOment in time, and nothing has heartbreaking as I Have Nothing or I Will Always Love you

    it’s a SAFE record…..nothing stands out.

    I’m soooooooooooooooooo disappointed.

Mariah please bring it honey, because Whitney had us wait 7years for a boring CD

  48. Jamie

Yeah tell Mariah to bring it especially after that HORRIBLE E=MC2 GARBAGE! She’s got more to prove than anyone b/c if that flops she’ll be done. She can’t act and she is too slutty and not photogenic enough to make a career outside of singing.

  49. Ziggy

STOP comparing her vocals against her younger self. She is a LEGEND she doesn’t have to prove herself anymore. We all know on her prime Whitney could sing ANYONE you can name off stage! To be 46 and still relevant in this industry is a TRIUMPH within itself. People are STILL talking about Whitney. She came back for her fans not for you people who are super critical over her less than perfect vocal. Mary J wishes she could sing as well as Whitney does on this album.

  50. BAD BAD BITCH

i love whitney; she’s a legend in every right, but this album is just OK. the songs are mostly lackluster and safe. i’m glad she’s back, but come on whit!

  51. blackgoddess

    I loooove it!! Go Whitney.

  52. stanley

The entire album is a certified hit !!!! She will receive every award in the industry for this album. My favs “worth it”, salute, For the lovers and Call you tonight !!!! She really shines, and she really learned how to sang as an “alto”. Strong and distinctive. I love how she used male background singers this time. She really bend with Male singers much better than female. They crafted a masterpiece right down to every detail

  53. Tarik

What’s this nonsense about Whitney’s album feels too safe? As opposed to what? All her other edgier, heavy metal albums?

Gimme me a break. This album is INCREDIBLE.

Whitney was on hiatus for a minute and came back ready to Whoop Ass and remind those who came after her that she’s TAKING her throne back.
