8 years ago today (August 25th), Aaliyah Dana Haughton, Anthony Dodd, Eric Foreman, Scott Gallin, Keeth Wallace, Gina Smith, Douglas Kratz, Christopher Maldonado, and Luis Morales died tragically in a plane crash that shocked everyone. At the time of the tragic accident, Aaliyah was just 22 years-old.
So today, we decided to post up the ‘Miss You’ video for all the fans. We also posted her MTV Diary for those who haven’t seen it. Rest in Peace.

R.I.P Aaliyah, you shall be missed but not forgotten.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost a decade since the tragic death of Aaliyah. She had a level of sophistication and maturity, both in terms of her music and her personality, that you don’t see in most young artists. At the same time, she had this incredible “swagger” lol, a kind of cool confidence, that’s a rare combination. She was, as she described herself and her music, “street but sweet”. In addition to all of that, she seemed to be very down to earth and humble about her success, and grateful for her fans. It sounds cliched, but true to the title of one of her hit songs, she truly was “One In A Million”, and her talent and persona are definitely missed.
R.I.P. to Aaliyah and the other eight passengers who died in the plane crash.
RIP baby girl. Truly missed. X

Wow her and the Twin Towers in 2001. Go way too soon….
I cannot believe it’s been 8 years either. I remember exactly where I was too. I was outside thinking I was cute with a few of my friends trying to mack some older cats and my two-way went off with a news alert…Ya’ll remember them two-ways right? LOL!!! Ne ways I wasnt the biggest Aaliyah fan but I do recall thinking I was the shit when I finally learned all the moves to “Are you that somebody” which I still remember most of the steps to date. My fave jams are “One in a million” “Are you that somebody” “Come over” “More than woman” “4 page letter” “I dont wanna” and “I refuse” I also loveeeeeeeeddddddd her in Romeo Must Die..She was a great talent and will be missed..Rest in peace to her and the 9 others who were taken from us that day. Bless their families and loved ones too.
Off subject: I saw some pictures of her hella cozy with Jay-z and I know she dated Dame Dash when she passed…could that have been one of the contributing factors as to why those two fell out??? Just curious….
Rest In Peace Aaliyah I Really Do Miss You I Stayed Strong All Day Trying Not To Shed A Tear But It Is Very Hard Especially When I Listen To Miss You I Can’t never Listen To That Song Without Leaving Out The Room Or Just Sitting There Crying. Aaliyah You Are Forever Missed And Loved. You Are Gone But Never Forgotten And A Legend Never Dies Love You And You Are Truly One In A Million
R.I.P. Aaliyah. Been a fan since the 4th grade (’94). You are still truly missed. You had originality, songs and music videos that have stood the test of time, and a cool down to earth personality: key elements many music stars do not possess today. It would have been great to see have seen you blow up to your full potential. You were well on your way.

R.I.P. Baby girl bka Aaliyah !
In her young life Aaliyah truly was a star. Even though it’s been 8 years since her death she still is remembered as being a beautiful lady with a beautiful spirit and voice. She had true talent that is still with us in all of her music with us today. RIP Aaliyah, you are missed.
O wow, what a coincidence… I been listening to ”Come over” this past week and knew she died this month but didn’t even realize/remember it was today. I still remember that day like it was yesterday…First time seeing those clips…Beautiful & genuine lady, R.I.P.
Aaliyah girl you were just so cool. You are truly I believe the best female singer and dancer that just has this cool factor that is real. Most entertainers today are so fake, don’t have a style or anything that sets them apart, they all seem to do the same thing, they don’t have a wow factor with their voices, there is nothing special about these artist today. They just fade with time. They try so hard to sell albums, to sell sex, just to be raunchy and nasty but Aaliyah did not have to do that to be recognize. When people could see her heart, her spirit they knew Aaliyah was real just like everyday people. She didn’t have a big ego or felt she had to put out a album every year or two. Her music is timeless and when you listen to it today you can really hear how great and strong her voice is and the dance moves I still can’t get right even today. Great Voice, Great Dancer, Great Videos, Great Image/Style, Great Movies, the list goes on
DMX life has been out of control since she passed. I pray that he will take her memory and change his life for the better. She is always watching. My continual prayers to her family…
AAliyah…i love u girl…u will always be missed. you have inspired me so much with my music…u r the original…u were great.
