Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM was found dead on Friday August 28, in his New York apartment. Details have not been released as of yet but many reports indicate that drug paraphernalia was found near the body. He was 36 years old.
DJ AM was in the news recently after he and friend/collaborator Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina that took the life of 4 people.
On Tuesday, August 25, Goldstein wrote on his Twitter account:
“New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems…”
According to E!, Goldstein recently filmed a series for MTV where he speaks on his addiction issues.
It’s sad that he died of what is to be believed is to be an overdose when he survived such a tragic event. Yes, it was horrible, and I don’t know what he was feeling in that situation, but why waste your life away when four other people who were in the same crash died, some with kids, and one with his first kid on the way?
@ 49 – I am a baptized Catholic, and although I am not an athiest, I am not super religious. I just have a hard time with your statement of God choosing to give him a second time at life, while the others were “not as worthy.” Why would God take the life of an expectant father, and not his? Or why would God pick and choose? I think that’s an unfair statement, and disrespectful to the four families of those who died.

And it wasn’t because of Nicole Ritchie I don’t think… considering that was a LONG time ago; he apparently just split with his girlfriend Hayley Wood a week ago and was supposedly devastated by it..
Also, I DON’T THINK the doctors gave him a crack pipe for the crash..
There was said to be one on the scene of his death..
I don’t think it was an overdose on the medication on JUST the stuff he got from the crash, BUT there were pills there… could’ve been those..

I’m more angry than saddened by this.
Suicide or accidental overdose, surviving the accident last year should’ve shown him that he was lucky to be alive and should appreciate that. Taking drugs is a risk, but even after being given a second chance at life he still kept taking that risk?
I can understand that you’d wonder, “Why did I survive that crash?” but why get all depressed by it? Be happy you’re still around!

Don’t be so quick to judge. There is more to this than Nicole Richie and the plane crash. May he RIP.
This is sad, but instead of taking this as a lesson for ourselves we instantly start judging. We can’t do anything about the fact that he had a drug problem, and died from it. So he dodged death a couple of times, lets remember that and live like we only have one chance. All we can do is realize is that if we or someone else has a addiction problem, we should be getting help.
Don’t live like you have 9 lives, or even 2, live like you have none, and this is your only chance to achieve your purpose.

wow, its such a shame how ppl are so judgemental and actually think that they know whether or not God will welcome him into his kingdom. Dj am isn’t the first person to die in the midst of a drug addiction, and just because he did drugs doesn’t mean he didn’t try or want to have peace with God, addiction is a disease its not something that can be healed overnight, and its not something that’s easy to fight. Our God is a forgiving and an understanding God, He knows Adam’s heart, and maybe he decided to put a weary soul to rest..
