  3. KIDDO

    Look’s interesting!

  4. ok

Why BET always gotta come out with ghetto sh*t. Not all black people are on drugs struggling living in Compton and the Bronx. F*ck BET!!!

  5. this reminds me of the First 48, Ill be watching!

  6. TJ

What happened to shows like “Fresh Prince of Belaire”?

Everything on TV and in Movies is Death, Violence, etc…And all those explosions weren’t warranted.

They are polluting my airways and our minds.

  7. G

damn Ty good work my nikka!

  8. ThaTruth

No doubt that this is the reality of most urban areas, where people live in poverty. Yes I’m black and from the ghetto. But I don’t think showing the world the gruesome things that happen in such areas will stop it or make people more aware. If you live in it, seeing it on television will have no bigger effect. It only makes others who don’t (live in it) stereotype and judge everyone who does.

Basically, I disagree with possible airing of this show. Of course things like this will get airplay because its “action”. But what positivity does BET plan on bringing to its network for the millions of youth who watch its programmings everyday? People are already complaining about rap lyrics and content in videos, how does this portray a better image then any rap video, seriously?

  9. D.Marie

I don’t see it lasting long this looks a bit to advanced for the BET viewers. I don’t watch BET at all soooooo……

  10. darklove

i like these kinda shows…..at least this one is a positive show instead of watching Keyshia cole’s mama!!

  11. FARFRUMWACK

I guess this is to counter act the Ghetto programing that they have on already SMH. Can I get BET to purchase my favorite “The Game” someing that depicts black people like actual humans instead of coons.

  12. Intrigue216

I don’t know about this show. Let’s see if it makes it through a complete season…

  13. LoveLoveMe

I’d probably watch it if it wasn’t on BET :(

  17. AshleyNikole

Okay so….umm kudos to EBT fooorrr ummm giving us something besides the Fuckery & Fuckery show.

I won’t be watching but good for them!!

  18. Kyree

This show is doomed to fail from the start, because BET`S shows look so cheap, they must be on low budget ,they think that the black audience is stupid and won`t notice how cheap their shows are,its like if the parents of a black family ran out of a name brand cereal like Captain Crunch, and went out to the Dollar store and bought a cheap low budget generic brand of cereal called Captain Chuck and hoped that their kids won`t notice

  19. JstBReal

Ima give Tyrese his props for executive producing this show, however I dont hardly watch BET so I probably wont care to tune in.

  20. bet sucks

its good that its something different than what usually comes on. even if the show is good, its not what the (now) BET audience wants to see. people who have since boycotted the channel will not return for this. now. . .for the GAME? probably, lol.
anyway, i dont have cable so i wont be watching either way.

and i can PROUDLY say i havent watched any BET shows in YEARS. they lost my vote a LONG time ago-not even for “award” shows
    BOOO

  21. Angie

Someone commented above that this show is positive. How is watching our people get shot up left and right positive? This show is only exacerbating the reputation that Compton is infamous for.

I’m going to watch it. I used to work in a Washington, DC emergency room. Real life is stranger than fiction. I know it’s going to be full of surprises.

    looks good :)

Great concept! good for BET… hopefully they keep with this route. Enough with the foolishness that is Tiny&Toya, Frankie&Neffe and whatever else. I’m going to watch this.. It looks very interesting even though i’m not one for grim and gory pictures- I can never watch ER straight through. I always chicken out lol.

    Good job Tyrese.

  25. A&E girl

    *still checking new gravatar*

    Okkk. should work now…

  26. GOOD GRIEF

    Looks interesting,

    I’ll be checking this out.
Let me find out B.E.T is finally going 2 show something that doesn’t have 2 do with cris popping, wrist watching, money, cars, hoes, hoodrats, white, asian & spanish chicken heads, bling bling etc; etc;……………………..

It looks interesting, but to be honest,
    the B.E.T viewers………are………a little………oh what’s the word I’m looking for?……
    RETARDED, yeah that’s it, retarded,
and because of that, this Beautiful Documentary might fly over their heads.
They’re not gonna get it, they’re not gonna understand, they’re not even gonna be able 2 comprehend it.

B.E.T viewers can’t relate 2 anything that isn’t “GHETTO TRASH.”
Kind of like the people on this post, the 1′s who are pissing all over this documentary
with out appreciating the point that it’s trying 2 make???…………………???

    “JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

  27. backingbarack

im sorry but this was done before. bet always steals show ideas and turn then black.

but with that being said. im glad they have something that would be seen on a&e type footage.

its an upgrade from scripted wanna be mtv shows. now its wanna be a&e shows. which is good bc ill probably watch. its not superficial but real life.

  28. tia

This show looks interesting. I like shows like this. you actually learn alot, whether it’s, what should be common sense or how to save a life (cpr). This is more reality that tiny and toya. you can’t script this!

My boyfriend is a fire fighter and the day to day is…interesting. They do more than show up to save shooting victims, btw. I don’t think this shows blacks in a bad light. Actually, if SOME blacks would stop doing stupid things, no one could show us in a bad light.

fire fighters are heroes, and that’s what makes this show positive. Showing black people like this will counter the negativity of what we normally sse.

i will also support tyrese. that’s what we need more of. aren’t blacks always bitching about how we don’t support? well, watch the show. give it a fair change BEFORE you deem it un-watchable.

  29. Yvette

I have never left a comment on this site… but I had to leave one this time.

I am glad that this show will be on this fall. Someone very close to me was a firefighter in the city for many years. Not only are the people in the city deeply affected by what can happen in the city when it implodes… but the firefighters and their families are also affected.

What I hope is that this show helps the bring about change… for the people who have their lives changed forever and it is time to change that. But I really want to credit the men and women who are on the front line who want to make a difference.

    BET, please do your job.

  30. li

UM there is nothing GHETTO about this show. This is a show about REAL LIFE and the people who HELP US in a time of need. To be honest, I never thought about a firefighter or paramedic’s stress nor do I think about the fact that outside of dealing with the world’s problems, they have to go home and deal with their own. To be able to SAVE people, to watch people die, to try to INTERVENE, to be able to do those things, you have to be a strong person. to FIGHT FIRE, to go in a burning building to save someone, that is something of heroic. There is nothing ghetto about being in a car accident, there is nothing ghetto about your house catching on fire, there is nothing ghetto about having a heartattack, there is nothing ghetto about those things, there is nothing ghetto about drug overdoses, because despite what some people think ALL people go through these things, all people black white hispanic asian whatever deal with death, accidents, drugs, violence, this something that should be watched in hopes of trying to prevent those things from happening if you can, and having a better understanding and appreciation for life to be grateful that its not YOU going through these traumatic events. done.

  31. JUS MY SWAG

Why is everything so depressing and sad? Damn I wanna laugh and have fun. No I won’t be watching this show.

  32. Ana

ALWAYS COMPLAINING, NOTHING IS NEVER RIGHT OR NOT GOOD ENOUGH, SUPPORT YOUR PEOPLE, EVEN IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE VIDEO OR MOVIE, SHOW SOME LOVE, WISH THE MAN THE BEST….SMH

  33. Holleywood

Thanks J. Dakar. :) It is just too many haters out there!!! :)

  34. ThaTruth

This is my issue, fire fighters and paramedics deal with these things on a regular basis. It’s their jobs, careers and a part of lives because of it! They should be commended for it. However, why do people need to graphically see what their jobs entail. To me it just give the youth a reason to cause more destruction in the streets. Ever heard of monkey see, monkey do? That’s why I’m not in total support, but this clip may only be a glimpse of what’s going to be aired so.. Everything isn’t hate, it’s called having a different opinion, some people use that word to loosely.

  35. EloB

    @31
I agree, just seeing this clip was difficult for me. I don’t think I could handle seeing people die, especially children or innocent bystanders….these people take all that in and deal with it and go back to do it another day. It is a thankless job and people need to be gratefule for strangers who put themselves in danger to save you. I think this show’s purpose is to reveal the other side of being a part of this community.

  36. theComplex

It’d have to be EXTREMELY well-done… BET can ruin anything. I said “maybe”.

  37. LOVEY DOVEY

I APPRECIATE THE POINT OF THE SHOW…BUT BET WILL FIND A WAY TO FU@K IT UP!

  38. Brezee

Wow people, you are such haters. For everyone who has negative things to say about this show, please get a life. This show is not ghetto, stereotypical, or anything else. This is an innovative show for BET and I hope it does well.
Such a shame when blacks have the crab in the barrel mentality, keep pulling each other down. There are so many white shows out there depicting the same thing and I’m sure none of you are saying the same about them. Why don’t you say “Great, they’re showing black people with great jobs and helping the community!” Couldn’t say that though, right. They don’t make this violence up for tv, so don’t blame BET for showing it. Why don’t we wash our dirty laundry if we don’t keep wanting it aired?
