Kanye West, Jay-Z and Rihanna throw up the roc sign as they perform “Run This Town” at Madison Square Garden on Friday night in New York City. The trio gave a great performance, one of the best from the night in front of the sold out show.

I watched it and it was HOT!!! Jay Z is da man. People can call him old or whatever but Jay has HIT after HIT. How many of these “new” rappers can do that. Not too many of ‘em. My husband and I were rockin to old school Jay last night.

I’m still buzzin from that show. AMAZING. Jay always knows how to throw a concert for real. Timeless. Beyonce kilt it, Mary kilt it, Diddy, Ye, Bleek, Cudi, MAYER kilt it, Rihanna looked great [singing ...], and Jay-Z kilt it.

Beyonce was among the many artists in the house last night at husband Jay-Z’s ‘Answer The Call’ 9/11 charity concert in New York. The 28 year old superstar surprised viewers with a performance of ‘Diva’. Put simply, Ms. Knowles-Carter did the damn thing; she actually killed it. Watching this kinda had me a little irritated at the fact she hasn’t performed this live anywhere other than on tour. As not the biggest fan of the song, Bouncy, as usual in such cases, manages to sell it like her life depended on it, with her stellar live performances. Hate it or love it, she really is the ‘baddest chick in the game’.
I am not typically a rap nor Jay Z fan, but my husband made me watch it. It actually wasn’t half bad! All of the performances were good. However, I’d like to see Beyonce come out without the large group of female dancers. I wanna see her by herself like Rihanna. It makes you look more confident. Beyonce does know how to get the job done though…never a bad performance. I loved Rihanna’s outfit, but I need her to work on perfecting her voice. Kanye looked good too. I’m glad he didn’t try to sing. I liked Cudi’s calm voice and Pharrel’s persona. Maybe I’ll may more attention to rap now.

Ok Ive been 2 countless Jay Z concerts. & hands down his best concert was the Black Album Concert. No question there and if you wasnt there then dont bother commenting.
Last night’s show was blah. Even Jay knew that. The crowd wasnt into it. He kept asking if he’s in NY. Diddy damn near had to turn the hoses on them at the end bc they were not yelling “HOVA”.

first off I tivo’d the concert and went back to watch it a couple of times
1. THE CROWD DID NOT GO CRAZY FOR RIHANNA. I WAS LIKE DAMN NO CLAPS. SHE STOOD W/ THE BAND & WHEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON THE CROWD WAS THE LEAST AMUSED. YES AFTER SHE SUNG AT LEAST 16 BARS & WENT DOWN THE STAIRS THEY CLAPPED.
2. RIHANNA LIP SYNCED THATS WHY SHE DIDNT SOUND HALF BAD. HER MIC WAS OFF. SHE COULDNT AD-LIB LIKE YE. CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELVES. NO SHADE. SHE HAD NO STAGE PRESENCE. & JAY DIDNT EVEN THANK HER – PLUS HE JUST DISSED HER ON EMPIRE STATE.
3. JOHN MAYER ROCKED THAT HOUSE. HE WAS GR8.
4. THE TRUE DIVA OWNED THAT STAGE. SHE DIDNT NEED A SET. 90 SECS ON THE STAGE & TORE THE ROOF OFF THE GARDEN. SOMEBODY MUST HAVE HAD THEIR TV ON LOW VOLUME B/C THE CROWD WASNT FEELING BEY WAS A DAMN LIE. WHEN SHE DANCED AT THE END BY HERSELF THE CROWD WENT BONKERS. SO DONT LIE CUZ YOUR FAVE ARTIST WASNT HOT!
5. PHAR-REAL AND JAY JUST HAS GR8 CHEMISTRY! PERIOD
6. MJB – TIRED OF THE SAME DAMN THING. SHE IS SO BORING. THAT SCREAMING YOUR THE 1 DOESNT MAKE IT TRUE. PLUS SHE NEEDS 2 STAY OFF THE STERIODS.
7. MEMPHIS BLEEK – I GUESS HE GAVE UP THE RAP CAREER TOTALLY.
8. SWIZZ BEATS KNOWS HE HAS THE HOTTEST SONG ON BP3. NOT MAD I DANCED THE ENTIRE TIME THEY RAPPED.
9. BRIDGETT KELLY – DIDNT SHE PLAY ON FLAVA OF LOVE OR SOMETHING, WHY DOES SHE LOOK SO DAMN FAMILIAR – PLUS JAY SHOULD HAVE TURNED OFF HER MIC 2. SHE SOUNDED AWFUL.
ALL & ALL THE CONCERT WAS MEDIOCRE COMPARED TO OTHER JAY Z CONCERTS IVE BEEN 2. NOT REALLY MAD CUZ I COULDNT GET TICKS.

I dont know where that concert took place but it looked pretty nice. I dont think that Jay-z is the best rapper alive…because his music doesnt influence ppl to me…theres to me no inspiration in his raps…like my dude Nas brings in his songs and other underground rappers as well…I think theres a difference in rap that mainly focuses on reppin “self”…”money”….”fame”…& “reputation”…then reppin the people, the streets and whats really goin on the world besides Hollywood….
to me theres no such thing as THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE…too many good rappers in this world to hand that title to just one. just because that person may be your favorite doesnt entitle them to be the best…..Pac is in peace and if theyre were to ever be such a title it would definately be in Pacs hand…dead or alive…nobody besides rappers like Nas has even come close to the diversity and talent Pac had to bring when it came to rapping. Pac was like the Micheal jackson of HipHop and Gangsta rap…then he was able to switch it up and make songs like Keep Your Head Up yo Brenda Gotta Baby and so forth. Thats true talent and “real” influence to me, coming from someone that literally lived and experience almost every song he wrote and rapped about and was able to for tell stories about whats really going in the real world with everyday people…
