CAN’T HEAR HEAR THE SONG BUT I LIKE MOST OF LEONA’S MUSIC ! SHE’S HAS AN AMAZING VOICE…..
She sounds very early mariah-esque on this track. Wish she did something more upbeat though.
The Ryan Tedder produced song is the first single off of Leana Lewis sophomore album Echo. I must say i’m very disappointed in the song it’s a power ballad that reeks of cheesy lyrics over the top vocal runs. Leona is a talented singer and her Ryan made a great team in the past “Bleeding Love” was exquisite. This song is self indulgent and although the song is tilted happy it makes you sad with it’s melancholic lyrics and beats. Ryan is sometimes very unoriginal. The Song “Already Gone” in which he did for Kelly Clarkson is very similar to “Halo” by Beyonce. Kelly’s record label put the song out much to Kelly’s dismay. He has become the leader of the manufactured sound and after this I wish he would go away. There is still hope for leona’s album other producers are line up and i hope thay don’t fall into the same trap as this song does.

All of Ryan Tedder’s songs sound the same…this, Halo, Already Gone by Kelly Clarkson, Battlefield by Jordin Sparks…heavy drums and bass with some piano. One Trick Pony! I like Maria’s remake of “I wanna know what love is”
Dis songs rock, its real music with real feeling and i like it, much love Leona.
she has a nice voice but i never saw the big deal about it. she doesn’t have much power behind it- she just has a lot of range. i felt the same way about mariah but at least mariah made memorable music

i clicked ‘hot’ just to support leona….which i think most people want to do. But really im not feeling the song. Hopefully a great video will put it into context. Its a bit of a blank canvas, and i need to see visuals to give it a ‘vibe’. Is it meant to be glamorous? Raw? minimal? Happy? sad? & it doesnt really have a very ‘singalong’ feel. I cant imagine this coming on the radio and humming along.

I like it, Leona is an amazing singer! Her first album is good. However, she gets by on her amazing vocals. I don’t think she’s learned how to bring the emotion through, she may feel it but it doesn’t always come through so that’s why she may sound a little boring but as time goes on she’ll experience more in life ( she’s only 21-22, I think) and the emotions will come out more. She’s a growing artist with the potential to be legendary with the right direction. It’s refreshing against these so called singers.

Don’t like it and the climax is a disappointment. I hate people who have body in their voice but all the body leaves when they go higher. It makes their voices sound affected. She is one of those people.

Leona has a beautiful voice but with her first album it seems as if they just threw together a CD so they could quickly market her to the American public. Also it is hard to get a toe in while Bey is still on that throne. Maybe Bey will go on maternity leave and that will open the door for other female acts to get their shine on cuz as long as Bey is out there, all of the attention will be on her.

I think Leona is what Mariah use to be. I think she has an amazing voice and this song would be a great song choice for a movie soundtrack. I think in POP music she is stronger than Beyonce vocally. However, I just can’t get into Leona just yet.
I know that this isn`t the best song that showcases Leona`s talent and Ryan isn`t the best producer for Leona,but keep in mind that Michael Jackson did`nt become a mega superstar,until he worked with the right producer,Quincy Jones,So if Leona can find the right producer I think her future will be bright because,she has the voice
Leona is not what Mariah used to be. Mariah was much better than Leona in her prime, and she also wrote, and produced her own songs. Mariah back in her prime, would slam Leona Lewis.
Speaking of Mariah, that photo of Lewis looks very Mariah alike. Hopefully she grows into her own artists, because she’s too much of a Mariah wannabe for me. Plus, I always found Lewis to be very boring.

I was never really fond of Leona before but I actually think this song is amazing. Only thing that disappoints me is the fact that Tedder used the same background beats as Already Gone, etc.
But considering the fact that she’s really the only UK artist making a name for herself in the states, something she does is working for her. Adele and Duffy have had some exposure there, but they’re sales, etc don’t even come close to Leona’s.
Anyways the lyrics are amazing IMO and as usual vocally she sounds. So overall I can forgive the background beats.
I think this will be one of the songs that live performances alone will sell it to the public. Hopefully though she can promote herself more than just performing on Divas as that doesn’t get a ton of viewers.
Hopefully Leona’s other songs ARE NOT form Tedder and we can actually how much potential she has and how great she really is.

Being from the UK its interesting to hear what you US guys are saying, tbh UK’s taste in music is DRY and thats what this song is aiming for, cos when she went to the US all the Brits were complaining that she snubbed her own country by going to America and sounding too much like Mariah, which tbh was a bit true. This is why her sound has changed. I don’t like her new direction, she sounds dated. Like other ppl have said, she needs the right producer to make her sound good. Ok Tedder made Bleeding Love, but after that all his songs have been clones, its like he used the same drums for Halo, Already Gone, Battlefield, Overcome and now this song Happy. No doubt she will be #1 in the UK cos they buy any old rubbish here, but as for a US hit i’m not so sure…

People are right, she has no personality and it doesn’t make me want to invest in her no matter how great her voice is. That’s what will separate her from Whitney, Mariah and Celine. You can feel what they were singing about. A good voice is nothing but a good voice if there’s nothing behind it.
I loving it, not as good as ‘Run’ or ‘Homeless’ but good nonetheless. Leona is my girl. Her voice is amazing. I hope she worked with other producers cos with a voice like hers, she has a lot of potential. Also, a few uptempo tracks would be nice but they’d have to be the right ones, not any old poo. This song is subtly beautiful and i dont think the lyrics are cheesy at all. In fact, I think its quite profound in a simple sorta way, when all is said and done, whoever we are, whereever were from, whatever were doing, we all just want happiness and this song conveys that really sweetly. The beats, the melody and her voice are tight. I think a few more listens and this will definitely grow on people. Like I remember when Halo first started getting some play not a lot of ppl were feeling it but then the vid came out and got rinsed on the the radio and music channels and then everyone loved it. I think the same will happen to this song. And its undeniable Leona’s got talent! If she continues to work with the best, i think shell get better and better
