Mariah Carey had the internet going nuts when her twelfth studio album, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel leaked online. The bulk of the album was produced and written by The Dream and Tricky Stewart.
Fans were a fiend to hear about Mariah’s version of the track, “H.A.T.E.U.,” demo’d originally by The Dream himself. And now they finally get their chance.

I personally liked when The Dream sang it more than when Mariah did. This is basically because the low notes of the song fit him a lot better than they do Mariah. But the concept of the song is really good.
And i think when people talk about wanting the Mariah from the 90s they mean the early 90s when she first came out. You know like Emotions and Vision of Love, back when her voice had power and feeling; not the Butterflies and Rainbow thing she had going on. Her voice now sounds decent on the track but lately when I’ve heard her sing live she sounds bad.

I like it, reminds me of Bliss from the ‘Rainbow’ album back in ’99 with the vibe and vocals somewhat…however, her voice is starting to strain and I don’t know what it is, but she’s losing it a bit.

previewed the album today and let me tell ya….Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is THE SHIZZZZZZ….. I’m luvin it so much have listened to it 5 times today…and that hairstyle she has on now…working well with the album cos this is throwback mariah..back to her rnb roots instead of teeny boppy E=mc2….Loves it.
she def does not have the voice she was born with and what made her a legend but i really like this.
this track is nice and sweet. better than the rest of the crap she comes out with.
she needs to stick to soft rock and slow rnb bc when she mixes it with hip hop and pop, it just doesnt sound correct. stick to the same recipe mariah.. ur voice is suitable for songs like these.

This song is not hot. I use to love Mariah. Her last good effort was the 4 years ago with The Emancipation of Mimi. Her last cd sucked (couldn’t even tell you the name of it). This cd is going to suck as well.

Butterfly had The Roof and Breakdown. This album has HATE U and Ribbon as just to craaaaazy r&b joints. I mean her whispery voice really really works here and then when she belts it at the end is just amazing…makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand.
Mariah can sing alot better than allll these bitches out there. She has every register. If only she would stop drinking all that wine and taking care of her voice outside of recording periods so that we can get some amazing live performances.
Very good album. Liked it all except for Up Out My Face’s, More Than Just Friends is meh and Angels Cry is so fucked up. The intro is nice but otherwise a huge rehash, I can’t even make it through

This is my fav off the album. I’ve been stuck on it ever since I heard the whole song. The whole album is very smooth R&B and more grown up.
That one little beat reminds me of Timbaland.
