There are WAY too many females in the game that can do it JUST like this chik… actually, even better! When she comes out, she really needs to think of this: why will I be inclined to listen to YOUR song as apposed to Ciara, Keri Hilson, Rihanna, etc, etc.
1) Is it going to be her look that catches my attention? nope. I mean, she pretty, but she don’t look like nothing special at all..
2) is it going to be her music? nope… cuz i turned off “superman” after like 30 seconds. The title, the concept, the sound just sounds so completely recycled, generic… there is no freshness at all about the song.

Yay, Nicoya is moving on up. I’m a subscriber to her youtube channel. She has a beautiful voice, personality and face. I wish her nothing but the best. I think the song sounds great.

The producer is a pro. He knew to do a 1 bar break beetween the chorus and bridge, because the chord change in the bridge was to jarring. And speaking of bridge, how refreshing is it to hear an actual bridge and multiple chord changes, as well an “active” bass line? Yea its 808′s and synths, but the throwback 90′s bass slides and arrangement made this song good for me.
And to her credit her lead vocal is not pitch corrected to DEATH. (although its there, its all over the backround vocals ecpecially in the vamp.
I like this and will check for her next joint.

i like it… what people dont understand is in this day in time pretty much EVERYTHING RITE has been done…. She went to the GREAT TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY with me!!! she is actually VERY talented and I was in attendence for her senior recital and she tore it down….she is really strong in jazz music and soul, but this sound I feel doesnt do her voice justice! That is the first thing I thought! I wonder was she kicked out of Destiny’s Child too. LOL She sounds just like Kelly and LeToya mixed together. SHe will need other songs to help distinguish her from other artists. She sounds too regular. She has a pretty voice, she just needs to take it somewhere different.

I agree – not that they are stupid though – but it’s like, these producers/writers need to start taking a poll to see how people are really feeling about the state of music. It’s like people say “Give us something different” over and over again, but they never listen. The people who really really make their marks on the music world and who stay around are the one’s who can’t be fit into anyone else’s mold. They have a certain brand – a signature sound.
Producers and Songwriters take note because the customer is always right (meaning those of us who will or won’t be buying your music).

There is nothing special about her, I’ve seen it all before. Yeah she can sing but its always the ones that can’t sing that got something special about them. You won’t get anywhere just by riding off your singing voice these days and I guess the ones that can’t sing are the ones that actually has the advantage because they will work harder on making sure there is something special and unique about them to keep people interested.

Nicoya has to be at least 23 years old maybe older like 26 or 27. She is a college graduate. I actually like her voice. She sings a lot like Beyonce to me. Of course Beyonce has mad skills but this young lady is a pretty good singer too.
