Remember recording artist Olivia? She originally was the first artist to sign with Clive Davis on J. Records and released her self-titled debut album in 2001.
She later signed with 50 Cent on G-Unit Records in 2005, where her sophomore album, Behind Closed Doors was shelved.
But she’s back, and has inked a new deal with Dollaz Unlimited/Universal Motown. “Take It Off” is Olivia’s first single, from her next album, which is set to hit stores in February of 2010.
The song sounds nice, but once again it’s about sex…

I’m so SICK of that damn autotune. Why can’t singers just sing anymore? It’s cool for an effect every now and then, but it seems that every damn song out is autotuned. I give this a NOT. I know she doesn’t really think this is gonna be a hit. Damn, what does it take to get a record deal nowadays? Hell, if they are just giving them out like that maybe I should go get one.

Maybe that’s why she got dropped, but I wouldn’t expect someone like Clive Davis, who is extremely picky about talent, sign someone like her. She needs to sit down and go find a real job. I am sick and tired of these washed up or never made it “singers” who keep on trying. She’s been trying for 9 years now and hasn’t made it so what makes her think she can make it now, especially in a recession music industry. The song is nasty but young at the same time. Sounds like something a teenaged girl would sing about her first time.

I actually like this one. Olivia was a fool for signing with GUnit in the first place. They didnt even know what to do with her. Now she’s trying again, AND I APPRECIATE THAT. She can actually sing too, I saw her showcase in NY when she first signed with J-Records and she was killing it with a LIVE VOCAL
