Oakland based singer/songwriter Goapele covers the latest issue of Bay Area magazine, Diablo.
She sits down with the mag and speaks about the birth of her daughter, writing new music and of course her love for the Bay Area. Here is a snippet:
In person, Goapele is stunning. Dressed in designer jeans and a tiger-print tee, her dark eyes and sculpted face are model beautiful. In conversation, she is serious and thoughtful as she speaks about her creative process. “A lot of what I do is solitary. It’s me in a room, writing a song,” she says. “It’s hard to know if this will connect with an audience.”
Goapele is currently working on a brand new album, which is a follow up to her 2005 album, Change It All. Make sure to peep her latest video for the song “Milk & Honey”.
