This seems like the female version of The Gospel, with Boris Kodjoe from like 2005. But yeah, straight to DVD would be ideal, they filmed this like almost 2 years ago.

Every time I hear a singer, a rapper whathaveyou starring in a movie, my heart aches for those people who live in their cars out in Los Angeles trying to be at least an extra in a film. My God.

Well I’m not a hater more like a realist. That movie don’t look worth $5 from the bootleg man. It looks all over the place. The only good ACTOR in the morning is obviously Lynn Whitfield. Who’s going to have to carry the movie acting wise all by herself. Ciara sounds bad. The little girl who portrays her character as a younger girl is a power house. Ciara has to compete w/ herself, because we all know she sounds nothing like that. The camera settings look low-budget. The poster used a picture of Ciara at an event back in 2005. I reckon this movie will gross no more than 5 million dollars over the weekend. So I’m not being a “HATER” just a realist. Because if I was I wouldn’t be saying “Go head Ciara, get that money!”

I rather watch Letoya’s movie The Preacher Kid and wasn’t this filmed in 2007?

Just happy to have another film with features Black people in a positive way. maybe the movie will suck or maybe it will be a good one, but either way, it is better than showing us as drug addicts, gang bangers, hood rats. Ciara is not the best singer, but she is doing her very best and her fans should be excited. I don’t know who is playing little Ci, but wow, what a voice. Looking forward to the movie and will support it.

I was an extra on the set and it was her singing. I think her name is Mariah Roberson. She performed lived and the girl has some serious skills. Her mom said she has opened up for Anthony Hamilton, Roberta Flack, Frankie J and Sean Kingston.

if you listen closely at the end (1:33 mark) it’s NOT ciara singing. they used another singer with a tone very similar to hers, and then they mixed her real voice in at 2:01. wow. lol. i can spot that girls voice from a mile away and i knew it wasn’t ciara. listen closely to the way the voice dub pronounces words at 1:45 and it’s so obvious it ain’t cici.

As a kid growing up in foster care in nyc, around the holidays some people become generous and this couple took a few kids including myself to see this play. The person who portrayed Ciaras character blew me away, I would never forget how great the play was - Ciara’s voice does not come close.

Rumor was it that Knoelle Higginson (writer’s daugther) performed the song for Ciara (at least part of it)…hmm, maybe they combined both voices.

Ciara is a talented entertainer. She may not have the best vocal skills but she doing her thang. And while alot of people are talking negative about her and this project, the check that she gets will probably be more that their annual salary. We need to use these blogs to promote positivity instead of negativity. We all have done something that just wasn’t our cup of tea but at least we found success in trying. The trailer was pretty good and I plan on seeing the movie and yes it does remind me of “The Gospel”, I liked that movie too.
