After some delays and re-shoots, ‘Mama, I Want To Sing!’ will premiere at the 13th Annual Urbanworld Film Festival.
Presented by BET Networks, the musical starring singer Ciara and actress Lynn Whitfield will screen on Sept. 26. According to AOL BLACK VOICES, the movie isn’t completely finished but will still screen during the Film Festival. Peep the trailer above.

The more haters the more fans that is what I have always been told. Ciara album didn’t do well for different reasons and most of these people on here that are hating for no reason are the ones that downloaded her album a year ago instead of buying it in stores this year. Some people must be mad at the poor single choices she made or just the fact that you think she isn’t homegirl from the A anymore. She is still homegirl cece just look at her she is just growing up and expanding her career which is neccessary.

Wow, I hope you all read my comment, I don’t think for a second anyone is hating. We are the people that makes these stars who they are. I have talked with the gorgeous original lead character from the play, yes she can sang and I felt a sadness there that she wasn’t reprised in the movie let alone asked to do a guest role…the young girl is indeed talented with great vocals…I do know that with code black being indie they had to cast a star who could bring in ticket sales..but now the movie is going to dvd…ciara isn’t a great vocal powerhouse..and yes there is no denying that there is a vocalist who has sung for the weak areas for ciara..its called enhancment somewhat when they blended latoya and michael..I do know if I wasn’t a talent singer I wouldn’t have taken up such a big spot to fill..I would of been humble and been a realist instead of wanting to be a huge star instead of being a true artist and giving someone elese a chance who livves, breathes perfecting their voice and acting techniques…this reminds me of when hilary duff took on the singing role in which she lyp sung to someone elese voice…what happened to the days of casting real true talent..remembering lauryn hill in sister act…
