After her new single leaked shortly after this year’s MTV VMA’s, Alicia Keys announces a release date and title for her new album.
On December 1st, Keys will release her fourth studio album, titled The Element of Freedom.
The album is being lead by the single “Doesn’t Mean Anything,” and has already been released on iTunes, but plans have already been made to release a second single, rumored to be title “Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart.”
It has been said that Alicia is releasing her album on December 1st because of World AIDS Day. As you may or may not know, Keys has work countless hours and spent many dollars on charity work for the fight against HIV/AIDS.
No more information about collaborators and special features on the album, but be sure to keep it locked to CL for more updates.
DIDDY LEAVES LABEL
It seems that Diddy’s contract with Warner Music Group/Atlantic Records is now over and he’s making plans to move over to a different label for his upcoming release.
His hotly anticipated, much-talked about release, Last Train to Paris will now be released via Interscope Records.
Implying a new Bad Boy-styled imprint may be in the offing, Combs said in a statement:
“Now that the term of the Warner deal has ended, I have elected to accept an opportunity to move my recording career and future label venture to another company.”
This is interesting, considering the much-rumored departure does not affect WMG’s joint venture with his Bad Boy Entertainment imprint and its acts, which include Cassie, Day26 and Cheri Dennis, among others. They will continue to move through Atlantic.
OMARION SIGNS WITH EMI
After being in limbo of a couple of different situations over the past couple of years, Omarion announced to MTV that he has inked a new deal with EMI Records.
Just a month after signing with Lil’ Wayne’s label, Young Money Entertainment, after a brief stint on Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group label, he signed a new deal with EMI to create his own imprint StarWorld Entertainment, where he will release his third studio album, Ollusion, due November 24.
“I have a lot of respect and admiration for the genius of Lil’ Wayne and the entire Young Money family,” Omarion said in a statement.
“I asked to be released from the label to pursue other opportunities that were recently presented to me. Because of our relationship, Lil’ Wayne had no issue with us ending our business relationship and released me from the label.” [SOURCE]
In other news, Omarion’s new single, the Gucci Mane-assisted single, “I Get It In,” will impact radio October 5th and a video is said to be shot soon. When asked about the new album, Omarion had this to say:
“My style has evolved so much on this album,” he continued.
“I was able to express truly who I am from a creative and artistic standpoint, which allowed me to share a personal side of myself with my fans through my music. This is my masterpiece, and I can’t wait for the world to hear my new album.”
I’m hoping this new label situation works out for him.

Of all of these, Alicia’s seems to be the only one that has any promise.
I would not care how good Alicia Keys song is, she is absolutely PATHETIC and I can’t support her. She’s talented and all but I just can’t do it, her actions speak louder than her words. She should be ashamed of her self because of the songs she sings, charities she does, how can you back track and sleep with a married man? I understand Trina, she said she was a slut from the jump, but A keys you lost so much respect.

I’m getting A.Keys album when it drops b/c all of her albums have been fire so far. The Swiss and Mashonda BS is between them. If Mashonda wants answers then she should ask her ex husband why HE left b/c A.Keys doesn’t owe her any damn thing. and she needs to stop spreading her business all over twitter it just tacky.
AKeys knows better. Therefore she should do better. Its unacceptable to be with someone else’s husband. If they wanted to be together, they should have waited until the divorce was finalized. They shouldnt be writing love notes on twitter either. Akeys brought that on herself. She knows hes still legally married. I dont think she broke up the marriage, but theres order and class to things. If you want to project a classy image, you have to do that all around. If swiss wanted to be with Keys, he should have gotten the divorce before being in a public relationship with Keys.

i never cared much for alicia’s music anyway. her lyrics are like hallmark cards. i don’t really like when artists parade around like they’re deep and then you read their lyrics and the feelings/emotions are so superficial, the lyrics are bland and standard- she only grazes the shell of human emotion- she doesn’t go deep inside- for a pop artist that’d be ok (i don’t expect great lyrics from bee, riri, cici, etc.) but for someone who is trying to pass as a true artist, it’s not good at all. i’d much rather have old lauryn hill or something. plus so many of her beats are recycled ones and she strains her voice when singing. and here’s my assessment on the mashonda situation: alicia=homewrecker, mashonda=classless, swizz=ugly, liar, adulterer

I’m intrigued to hear some songs of Alicia Keys. I like some of her music but never enough to purchase the whole album Her voice is pleasant (‘Woman’s worth, Fallin’ )and then grates on me at times( Another way to die , Teenage love affair) but I respect her as an artist and a humanitarian.
In terms of her private life, I’m not on twitter or follow anyone cos I’d end up obssessed like all my friends so I don’t know what ‘she said , he said’ but I find it ironic when celebs get into some heat ‘ ( yes it’s human nature to judge/stereotype whether rightly or wrongly, although some people taking it too far when they mention murder and all that) when they’re on the blogs judging all day people at their school/college/ or work when you don’t know their situation although some people really are lost causes. ( I guess freedom of speech is allowed in certain instances but not in others). And then saying ‘it’s between them and God’ when, and I’m no biblical scholar now, but I’m sure there’s a commandment against what is allegedly been going on. Nevertheless I know the world isnt black and white but I always thought were some basic principles/morals/ COMMANDMENTS,( since many people seems to Christians) which we should try to adhere to and shouldn’t be forgotten whether you’re religious or not. It also takes TWO to tango though and I’ll leave it at that.

I think that many people are MISSING THE BIG POINT! She does charity work… so what? What singer do you know doesn’t do charity work??? There are many people who do a lot for the needy but do bad things and are bad people, example OJ SIMPSON! Anyone who supports an artist based on their personal life is a fool.
