Amerie finally reveals her album cover for her debut over at Def Jam, In Love & War. Some photos, which are posted below, leaked early to show a very artsy vibe, similar to that for her first video, “Why R U?” which was directed by Ray Kay.
Amerie is currently promoting the new album with her second single, “Heard ‘Em All,” which she debuted her video for last week. In Love & War is set to hit stores November 3rd.

I think you are talented and beautiful BUT is this your last album? I was swept in with a few of other people that have bought your first album and really loved it. Then I went on to enjoy all of your First album singles until I went out and bought that mess and never understood how u couldnt make more than 2 hits on each. I am speaking as a fan and not a hater when I say that I am not really feeling your new music!!! It really doesnt sound anything like good music!!!
I think she is absolutely gorgeous. It’s too bad that her music and voice never really can compete with some of the other female artists out. Her music never really does it for me… I wish it was as strong as her look.

A photoshop mess. I love Amerie, however it seems all the RnB chicks are attempting to be edgy and show their artistry. I dont buy it. This album cover looks subpar. Amerie is a gorgeous girl and she looks stunning in the artwork. But, the Windows Media Player treatment crap aint the biznass. Sorry Amerie.. the artwork/album fail to impress me.. just my opinion.

anyway, the album artwork is looking dope. it makes me anticipate this record even more. the thing i appreciate about amerie is that no one is pulling her strings. it’s all her. she stays true to her sound and style, even if her album sales suffer, she still keeps it real. in this day and age when everyone is trying to clone everyone, miss amerie is like a breath of fresh air. she can do no wrong in my eyes, besides having lenny as her manager. this girl has natural talent and it’s a damn shame that she’s overlooked. let’s hope that’s not the case now that she’s on defjam.

The last video she appeared in, she was dressed in ALL BLACK, covered by a red and black cape; The lighting was very dim and she was running around in what looked like Lucifer’s dungeon.

@ #33-34: when we first met amerie it was 2002. now it is 2009. amerie has never said or portrayed herself to be a “good girl gone bad.” so what if she’s wearing some black clothing in her latest video, is she’s fronting like she’s some hard edged girl? umm no. check out her video for “touch” that was released back in 2005. it also had a dark theme to it. did you really expect her to be running on the beach or somewhere sunny for the video to “heard ‘em all” because i sure didn’t get that vibe from the track. it would be one thing if amerie changed her all around persona, but she’s still that same sweet, intelligent woman that all her fans love. amerie keeps it real.
and as far as the album cover, she’s not trying to imitate some fallen angel. it’s just the way they imposed the artwork behind her and it fit. she’s giving us a different aesthetic to look at besides your boring old glamour album shots. you can tell there was thought put into it on her end and i can totally respect that. but oh well, you can’t please everyone.

Amerie is very beautiful, and I love her, but that pic for the album cover is horrible! She looks like she’s hurting! She should have chosen the thrid pic. As much as I want Amerie to succeed, she never will. I don’t know what’s with her and the wrong singles. She’s now showcasing her true talent. Plus Def Jam was a bad move. I agree that their only main focus is Rihanna and Ne-Yo.

I never was a fan of Amerie, vocally she comes up waay short. She doesn’t have what it takes to survive in the R&B/POP world. She’s not pop enough to hang w/ Rihanna and Beyonce on the charts, and her singing can’t make up for what she lacks…therefore she can’t be put in the J. Hud or A. Keys level. Therefore she needs to come different to set herslf apart to make it this time around. Right now, I get a wana be Rihanna vibe her (and I am NO way a Rihanna fan), but the “dark angel” photogrphy thing is real lame. Plus when I heard the song “Heard Em All” I felt like I was listening to Beyonce’s “Diva”. Altough vocally she’s no power house, I think if she got with the right people, she could go places. Def Jam is trying create another Rihanna type artist, which they don’t need to because one is waaay too much, lol. But I do wish her the best. She’s not a bad singer and it sounds different, but she not an awesome….Where are all the real singers???
