Amerie debuted the video for second single, “Heard ‘Em All” from her upcoming fourth studio album, In Love & War on BET’s 106 & Park this evening.
The video was directed for Anthony Mandler, who was also responsible for Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” video, as well as Rihanna’s video for “Disturbia.” Amerie’s new album is set to hit stores November 3rd, via Def Jam Records.

Wonderful song and hawt video!!! When I first heard this track, the beat, Amerie’s flow over the beat, and chorus – I couldn’t help but dance. Hell, I guarantee that most people accidentally created their own choreography to this video from the song alone. The one thing I’ve always valued about Amerie, beyond her beauty and gritty-Mary-J-Blige-ish vocals, is her originality. This girl thinks through her career (putitng her Georgetown University degree to good use), and only releases what she wants, and not what the label wants – hence her leaving Columbia Records (aka Beyonce, Inc.) With the video, and the album artwork, Amerie went for something more abstract, which hasn’t been done yet, and I think that it will work in her favor. But another strong suit of Amerie’s, is her ability to bring songs to life on stage, and once she wrecks the stage with this song, just like “One Thing”, everyone will begin to notice how hawt this song is!
On a different note: Is it me, or does it seem like the same hater is creating new names, to make multiple posts of nothingness? Fake nose (who cares)…10 years on the scene (it has really been that long…again, who cares)…she looks like a khardasian (for the last time…who cares). I’d like the video more if it actually went with the song. I pictured this video having an African type theme because the song is really like a chant and more color. I pictured her dancing a hell of a lot better too. Her backup was good but Amerie still can’t dance to me. She lacked energy, I mean damn the backup had so much energy and she didn’t. I just loved it! It was on point fashion forward and Mad Maxish. This girl has mad talent and the album sampler on Def Jam’s website is letting you all know what’s in store for everyone with this album here. I love the cut with her and Trey Songz and the Higher cut as well as the Red Eye joint. Amerie will get her props with this album In Love & War.

Disturbia was more like zombiesh and evil and kind of scary monster theme. The Heard’Em All video is more Mad Maxish and kind like the end of the world warrior. I just loved it and Amerie is overa and always giving you something different.

If they don’t like the video, it doesn’t see the light of day ask Beyonce she has many. 2. They see some other artist do something that’s original and its a hit that equals $$$$$$$$$. They want a piece of the pie so they copy. 3. They have a thing called a contract that says you the artist are my puppet and if I say jump you better cause if you don’t you owe us $$$$$$$$$$$. 4. BECAUSE OF THE CONTRACT A RECORD COMPANY CAN CHANGE AN IMAGE, THE SOUND, AN ALBUM EVEN PUSH IT BACK ETC. THEY GOT FULL CONTROL ie.
