How did Whitney struggle on Oprah?
She talked through alot of the the song and when she CHOSE to hold notes, they sounded really good. So how did she struggle?
It wasn’t her most effortless and controlled performance, but what it did show, is that she still has a powerful voice that’s surely clearing up from raspiness, and she still has the ability to perform very well and affect an audience.

@ Jasmine, what i was expecting on Winfrey’s show was a rested healed vocal perfomance from the greatest vocalist that has ever lived. Greatest Love of All performance (youtube) it at Arista’s anniversery party. Whitney’s voice was UNSTOPPABLE.

Lip singing was off especially at the end. I noticed this in Mariah video too. Maybe the music wasn’t loud enough for them to follow. They could of edited that mistake out the video. Overall it was cute
As a Whitney fan, I must say the most rewarding part of seeing her in the public eye is she seems to possess a soberness about her. And by sober, I mean a resolve and acceptance of all that she’s been through. Whether or not her voice is the same, and although some mannerisms have certainly changed, it’s good to see her back living life with some fight in here.
That said, “Million Dollar Bill” (the video and song) display the lighthearted Whitney we remember. As a 46-year-old who battled a drug addiction for 15 years, she has retained an amazing amount of charm and energy. Not to mention beauty. the makeup helps, but Whitney is still lovely.
Melina, the video’s director, pulls off a stunning clip. Caoturing the disco-vibe of the track, the location a small, intimate nightclub is genius. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Whitney having this much fun. And the choices i waredrobe are stellar. I wasn’t sure how this video might turn out, but for the most part is a finely executed balance between being, hip, sexy and age-appropriate.
There are a couple of gripes, mainly with Whitney’s lip-syncing being out of, well, sync. At the beginning and end, the gyration of her chin while belting out the song’s signature note is a very over-exaggerated. And as many others have mentioned: the tongue? What was that all about? I feel like that could have been edited better, as well as the syncing. But, I digress.
Welcome back Whitney…maybe not so much to music, but certainly to life.

They say things way out of the ordinary and then write a page about it. the performance on Oprah had to be good because its been playing nonstop on radio and the youtube clips are some of the most viewed. and its funny a mariah fan talking about whitney being lazy with live performances, huh? really?
the video is great, she looks great(especially in that pink dress), she is feeling great, just sit back and enjoy it for today, not what she was yesterday or who she will be tomorrow.
