Seems as though this year’s VMA’s have brought leaks out of the wood works and everyone’s been making good off of their appearances. Just after her finale performance with Jay-Z, Alicia Keys has leaked her brand new single, “Doesn’t Mean Anything.”
“Doesn’t Mean Anything” leaked earlier in snippet form, but now we get the full version of the mid-tempo, piano-driven ballad. Alicia sounds great on track, which is the lead single to her upcoming album, which we haven’t learned a title for yet.
Oh, and she does sound nice on this track…I loved her last album, so I’m hoping she brings it again!
She sounds great, but the song seems kinda boring to me. It might have to grow on me.

It’s OK. Most of Alicia songs have to grow on me, I wasn’t really feelin No One at first but it grew on me quick. Not throowing any shade, I still love Alicia! She is one of my favorite artist. I really respect how after she drops an album, its a huge success, then she goes away for a while and gives people a chance to miss her. She is not over exposed and constantly shoving medicore songs down our throats one after another just to stay relevant. You anticipate her next move and look forward to seeing how she has grown as an artist and she never lets you down. Other R&b singers should take note, but I won’t say no names. *sligh smile*

The lyrics are sweet but sometimes I wish she would kick a little booty in her music the way Janet Jackson’s did in Rhythm Nation.

the beat is GREAT!!! But her voice sounds a bit crusty/scratchy, like she’s straining. It sounds like she wasn’t meant to sing this song. The tune is definitley made for someone with a clearer voice!

I simply adore Alicia. She is the perfect example of a classy,beautiful,talented,intelligent woman. She has it ALL. Including good music like this. Ive heard every single song she’s ever put out and I can’t remember ever disliking one. I don’t love every single one, but all of them are at least decent, in my opinion. Only people who know what good music is will appreciate this song.The lyrics, the beat, her voice..bravo. What? This sounds nothing like No One, lol.
I don’t care for the melody of this song at all. Her voice is okay I guess, but I have sadly lost interest in Alicia Keys since the last album not to mention the scandal. I’m sure this will do well on pop radio tho! If she returns to her soulful roots, maybe I’ll consider buying another album from her. Good luck!
