After exhibiting bizarre behavior at Geoffrey’s, a restaurant in Malibu, 24-year-old Mitrice Richardson was arrested for not paying $89.21 for a dinner of Kobe beef steak and an Ocean Breeze cocktail.
When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they found a small amount of marijuana in her car, impounded it and took her into custody on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper and possession of the drug. According to the restaurant staff, Richardson “said she was from Mars and started speaking in a made-up language”. Restaurant owner Jeff Peterson said, “She did tell my valet at one point that she was here to avenge Michael Jackson’s death.”
Released on her own recognizance, Richardson had no car, no cellphone and no purse when she left the Los Angeles County sheriff’s substation in Calabasas about 1:25 a.m. That was September 17; she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
“We’re looking for all kinds of clues,” said Greg Fry of the California Emergency Mobile Patrol Search and Rescue team. Richardson’s mother, Latice Sutton, said she was shocked that her daughter hadn’t paid her bill, saying Richardson had $2,000 in a bank account. After seeing her mug shot, she said, “My daughter would never walk out of the house with her hair looking that way.”

Hmmm the website says she suffers from mental health issues, not sure if the police would have record of that, at 1am I’m sure it’s common for people to be released without a cellphone or wallet so I can’t fault them for that after all you are released with the same belongings you came with which means she had nothing to begin with(probably was in the car that was valeted?)….was she dining alone? I doubt it if her bill came up to $89+

It sounds like she got a hold of some bad weed and it was laced with some other drug and it caused her mind to start to hallucinate and that can make a person behave in a very bizarre way and lose all contact with reality.
Something definitely is not sounding right to me. How did they release her without her belongings? Furthermore, how did they release her without making sure someone was coming to get her, seeing as how she was acting strange in the beginning. Another thing, why didn’t they get her evaluated with all the talk from Mars and such. Something is way off in this case.

i saw this on the Today Show last week and they haven’t mentioned her again since. I think it’s strange that when white woman go missing the news report on them everyday and with black women, it’s the complete opposite.

First when the valet heard her say she was there to “avenge Michael Jackson’s death” he should have called the authorities then. Second, the police should have known something was wrong with her and tried to find her guardian or caregiver. It’s obvious that releasing a mentally ill person on thier own when they’re obviously having an episode is just horrible judgement on the part of the police. I hope they find her and I hope when they do there is a law suit!

I wonder what her mental health issues were, because she had a car, $2000 in the bank, drugs, kobe beef saavy, fashion sense, a college degree, ocean breeze taste, good hair, a personal physician and a loving family. The police should have seen a red flag when she mentioned aliens. And, what does it say about the LA law if you can be arrested for defrauding an innkeeper, drug possesion, while talking to aliens, MJ…and then you’re released before daybreak on your OR. If she was given one phone call, they should check the phone records and see who she called. Maybe she’s with her supplyer.

For the ignornant individuals who feel this incident is a joke. How would you feel if she was a member of your family? It wouldn’t be funny would it? Because she was showing signs of mental illness she should have never been released. She should have been held for observation or transported to a hospital for observation. From the pictures i’ve seen of the sheriff substation it is in a very rural area and would not be safe for a young woman to be wondering in the middle of the night. I pray she is fine.

The police clearly knew she was not mentally well. Why didn’t they bring her to a hospital where she could’ve been evaluated and released to her relatives?

Hmmm something does not add up with this story. It sounds like she may have been slipped something because it sounds like she was as people say not acting herself. I’m wondering if maybe she met someone that night who wanted to take advantage of her maybe as she left the resturaunt but was foiled by the police being called. This doesn’t sound like mental illness to mee. The only mental illness exibited were from the Police who thought it was good judgement to release a disoriented female alone in those conditions……SMDH

This story sounds fishy. She clearly needed a mental evaluation and should have been kept kept until she go one. On top of that, she should have gotten her belongs back once she was released. I am sure her family and friends are investigating everything possible.
I pray that she is found, safe and sound, and that she get the help she needs.
