i think black women have a problem with mariah being mixed and looking like a white lady. my mother who is very dark, does not like her, not because she cant sing, but because she is prissy and my mother thinks thats fake
but the truth is Mariah carey looks white has “good” hair and white people love her. i think black women are secretly jealous and hateful to her because of that.
i like her, i like her voice (when she really sings) and her lyrics. i think once we get over the self-hatred and bullcrap, we can finally except this woman as one of ours and enjoy her
MAriah Carey’s album won’t sell as much as Whitney and fyi, whitney is in Europe this week and the next promoting the album where I Look to You has gone #1 in over 12 countries. She will be in Germany,France, Italy and the UK.
Billboard is predicting that Mariah is on track to selling 170k, that is only almost half of the 311k that Whitney sold. I think that Miariah will sell more by the weekend but she wont sellmore than 250k- the album sounds alike and the music sounds the same, they lyrics are for the kids, grown people won’t purchase this cd and we all know that besides the fans, young kids download illegally or purchase single tracks from itunes.
Mariah looks too cute. Love the style. Hope she sticks with it. I couldn’t wait for her CD to come out. I absolutely love Obsessed and the video (and it is clearly em she is mocking) too funny, entertaining, nice lyrics, etc. I need to make sure I like more songs before I buy the CD. I am sure many of you don’t know Ledisi but her latest CD is really good. She makes really good music.

MARIAH LOOKS FABULOUS. I do not like the c.d. Most of the c.d is in auto tune. If you can sing 80% of your album should not be auto tune. She could have atleast been Like Whitney and kept it real and let us see what she really has. Too many tricks on this c.d. The songs are catchy and the beats are nice so if you’re into auto tune, nice beats and catchy lyrics you will love the c.d. and to # 64 OBVIOUSLY the public disagree with you. Whitney’s album debuted #1 in so many countries and she’s still in the top 4.
I don think the album is in Auto tune…listen to angels cry, it’ s a wrap, i want to know what love is and others… come on.. the woman can still sing (and better than 99% of the singers out there)
I will give it another listen but it sounds very auto tuneish. Not that I have a problem with that but it’s Mariah. It’s a wrap and H.A.T.E.U is nice and a few others but it’s just does not sound like her and yeah she can sing a bit but not how people is making it out to be. There area a nice handful that can give her a run for her money…Alicia Keys, Jeniffer Hudson, Melanie Fiona, Jordan Sparks, Monica,Chrisette Michelle and still Whitney regardless of what anyone says cause every time I see Mariah perform she’s singing to back tracks and lipping. She hasn’t showed us anything special since the 90′s. I just want her to keep it real and sing more appropriate songs. Those songs should be for someone in there early and mid 20′s and she’s almost 50. I’m still a fan of Mariah.

This CD is nice, I was wondering how it was going to turn out without Jermaine.
But the Mariah and the Dream did there thing on this album. I would have liked a track or two by JD like love story, but it’s a tight album.
And yeah it should be about talent and not all about looks when your singing.
Mariah just always looked like a better version of Tiny from Xscape to me.
Mariah! Girl, I love the cd, it is everything that I expected and more. I can’t choose a favorite because they’re all great songs.
