I agree w/TRUTHFULLYSPEAKING…But, image also plays a big role in a artist career as well. People choose to see before they hear, and nowadays image is most certainly a plus. And 9x out of 10 if people dont like what they see then its a less percentage that that particuar artist will remain relevent. Dating back to the 60’s when muscians wore Big Hair, To bold makeup, to colorful clothes and platform shoes..to afros and dashikis and so forth. Your image is what seperates you from the rest even if the next person is doin it, you gotta simply make it your own. Thats how it then become original. I like EVA because shes very futuristic, her singing isnt the best but its tolerable, She also can dance as well…. The least I can say for many of the artist out now that are relevent off looks and fashion alone.

Basically anyone or anything in Hollywood is manufactured unless there underground. Most underground artist are laid back with there appearance and choose to put more effort in there music rather image.

@23 I don’t think it’s just Rihanna’s fans who call her a fashion icon. I have seen it in publications and have heard other people who work fashion speak of her as an Icon. One thing about Rihanna she never said she wanted to be a fashion icon or any icon for that matter. Remember people give you that title she never went around saying “I want to be an Icon” which are the words of another entertainer that also says she wants an Oscar. People make a lot of assumptions about Rihanna and the thing is she has spoken since February and even before that she has never had an attitude thinking she is the best she just does her thing. Whether you like it or not I wish her nothing but the best. People like you and others can’t wait to see Rihanna fall which is a shame.
