VIDEO: FAMU LAW PROFESSOR CONFRONTS BILL O’REILLY

September 25th, 2009

Florida A&M University law professor Dr. Jeremy Levitt confronted Bill O’Reilly Thursday night over Fox News’ role in agitating racial tensions regarding President Barack Obama.

Dr. Levitt cited Glenn Beck and the network’s role in encouraging the 9/12 protests, which featured an assortment of racist signs, stating that “Fox News and the far right have a race deck, and they play the ace of spades every day.”

Bill O’Reilly couldn’t handle an intelligent law professor, lol. I still trying to figure out why he would compare white racist to the black panthers. O’Reilly basis says whatever comes to the top of his head. He probably doesn’t believe half the things he says, just says it to boost ratings.

Everyone who objects Obama’s policies IS NOT a racist.

    Bill O’reily is RIGHT.

The same way that everyone black person who supports him IS NOT a black supremacist.

You’re IGNORANT if you call everyone who opposes Obama’s policies a racist.

“Always bitter seeming” Bill O’Riley has been LONG overdue for finally being confronted! I’ve always found his behavior towards “cruftifying” people unjustly and being the FIRST to take a “clear punch” is at times MOST ridicilous. Indeed, he did NEED to be called out on the carpet.

I wonder what Aston will say on this post. I like his views :)

Bill O`Reilly is doing way more than just objecting to Pres.Obama,he is publicly smearing, slandering and attacking Barack`s character on a daily basis, object means you don`t agree with Pres. Obama and you disapprove of his healthcare plan,Bill O` Reilly is going way,way beyond that and he is actually smearing and attacking Obama with lies, that`s called slander, not objection.

But, the problem is that Professor Levitt is casting all of the protesters and their objections under the umbrella of racism (not just O’reily and his objections) and that’s NOT RIGHT.

I am black and I have some real concerns about “Obamacare” and what may ultimately lead to the New World Order.

This isn’t a matter of race; but that’s not what the media wants you to see.
Everyone should have objections with the state of world affairs, and you shouldn’t be labeled as “racist” or a “conspiracy theorist” for having them.

It’s sounds more like Bill O’Riley was confronting Dr. Jeremy Levitt for exposing the far right and its right-wing brethren’s most recent barrage of indignant and visceral attacks against President Barack Hussein Obama. Dr. Levitt gave his opinion that the scourge of anti-Obama fanaticism is nothing more than foolish racism masquerading as patriotism and phony Christianity. O’Riley and Fox took offense and brought him on the show to confront him.

That being said, the confrontation backfired on Bill, because Dr. Levitt took the opportunity to announce that Fox News “has a race deck, and they play the ace of spades everyday…and everynight”. When poor Bill mentioned Louis Farrakhan and the new Black Panther Party, the confrontation was over, because that comparison was outrageous. Who has Farrakhan harmed? No one! Who has the Black Panther Party harmed? Maybe 10 people back in the 60′s.

I give props to Dr.Jeremy Levitt, for confronting O`Reilly. But where is our black leadership on this issue, where is Al Sharpton,he was dancing and doing the electric slide at that event that was held in Harlem to honor Micheal Jackson.I guess he`s busy brushing up on his dance moves, and where is Oprah,I guess she`s too busy rapping and freestyling wih Jay-Z. This is why Fox News is so powerful and influential, because when our top influential and powerful black leaders are silent, the evil racism of Fox news grows .

    13. MY POETRY`S DEEP, for God’s sake, let’s give Al Sharpton and Oprah a rest. Al will speak up when he sober’s up and Oprah ain’t doing anything to hurt her ratings. I’m glad that the college professors are speaking out. Obama is a Harvard grad, so he don’t need people like junebug and tunafish speaking up for him all the time. Sharpton is eloquent and Oprah is crafty, but sometimes you need a person who has a strong mind to go toe-to-toe with the far-right. Clinton, Carter and Mondale have all spoken up, so let’s hear from some of those New York Lawyer types. A blind man can see that the tea party’s, patriot and phony christian are racist. Bill even tried to distance himself from Rush Limbach. That was classic.

and sure, not every guy who opposes Obama is racist (it’d be foolish to say that) but it’s obvious that A LOT of those right-wings do. especially when Obama made that speech to all the schools… Reagan and Bush, Sr. did the same thing and nobody complained, so why would they complain when President Obama did it? it doesn’t make sense – the only thing i can think of is racism.

    # 13 @ My Poetry`s Deep, I agree ! That is so true.It is troubling to see our so called black leaders doing the electric slide and rapping, because historically european whites and the Fox News corporation, have portrayed black people as elecric slide performing, chicken wing eating ,rap music loving negroes. Fox News will portray Sharpton dancing at MJ`s celebration like he was a lewd scantily clad native of a African tribe and Oprah rapping, they will portray that as proof that we are uncontrollable tragic negroes, who get hyped off of the violent lyrics of rap, ready to rob the korean store or do a driveby on that cat who looked at you wrong at the mall. When our leaders are doing the electric slide, rapping like the teenagers, and wolfing down chicken wings instead of protesting, it just feeds into Fox New`s ugly and racist portrayal of blacks as tragic negroes who are intellectually inferior, culturally stunted black mammies and bucks..

It’s ok to disagree. It’s normal, but to constantly try to down someone because you cannot stand him is stupid as hell and Faux News is stupid. If you think that Bill O Rielly is some kind of right, you have to be brainwashed.I don’t think he believe half the things he says because that shit is made up.

And you have to be a fool to not see that many of the Faux News people say are racially driven. Most people don’t even know the issues at hand. Many of them don’t even know what Obama done since he got in the office except what they tell you.

Give the man a chance instead of prejudging, but he is the president so I expect some backlash, but NOT this kind.

I’ll repeat what I said to #13 to you: For God’s sake, let’s give Al Sharpton and Oprah a rest. Al will speak up when he sober’s up and Oprah ain’t doing nothing that don’t help her ratings. I’m glad that the college professors are speaking out. Obama is a Harvard grad, so he don’t need people like “junebug and tunafish and nem” speaking up for him all the time.

Sharpton is eloquent and Oprah is crafty, but sometimes you need a person who has a strong mind and scholar to go toe-to-toe with the Fox-right. Clinton, Carter and Mondale have all spoken up, so let’s hear from some of those New York Lawyer types.

#5….Okay so i guess you didn’t watch the whole video because he CLEARLY didn’t say that everyone who opposes Obama is a racist. Infact thats what BILL said, when he tried to put those words into the professors mouth..classic.

#13 PLEASE!! We do NOT need Al Sharpton!! He will set us back like he always does. We need more people like that Law Professor. I’ll take him over al any day. Though he may not try to, Al makes black people look bad. We just need new faces apart from Al and Jesse.

If someone doesn’t agree with Obama then they can simply say that they don’t agree, and they can explain why. Now when they start to compare Obama to a monkey, african witch doctor, and bringing up historical racial slurs, then you just changed it from someting intelligent, to something ignorant and racial! We never saw anyone on the news calling Bush a bunch of racial white slurs. When people dissagreed with Bush they came at it with intelligence and class, and his race was never brought up. Admist ALL of the foolishness that Bush has put forth. But when people come at Obama its clear that they don’t show the same respect. Bottom line some republicans don’t know how 2 act respectable while trying 2 get their political views across. They feel the need 2 bring Obama down with racial slurs which is sad. Bill needs to open his eyes and see it for what it is.

Why Bill O’Reilly is NOT listening Dr. Levitt’s answer…?
I o not consider this like a debate. But , to me, a conversation includes the ability of LiSTENiNG , not just asking questions and adding comments while the other person is answering.

Regarding the subject : The Dr. Levitt is right, its not patriotic to put out the race question whenever they talk about Mr. Barack H. Obama …
IT really hurts me – deeply – when I see a bunch of people contesting and holding placards with signs of monkey or with N words…
They ABSOLUTELY have te right to contest & protest whatever the President Obama does, but PLEASE forget about the race question..

Bill makes sure that he properly and strategically put words together to deem him of not being a racist. Anyone, black, white, green..notices a racist when they see one. I agree that racism is not always the case for being displeased with Obama’s decisions. But I, as well as many of you, knew that this would happen. That does not take away from the fact that racist things has often come from most mouths of those from fox news. Bill you are, so live up to it! Stop denying it, by making these everlasting arguments.

I’m glad Dr. Levitt confronted O’Reily, but at the same time, the best and only way to shut him down is to not pay attention to his extremist, biased views that he tries to sell as fact-based news. I don’t watch Fox News and I don’t pay attention to it. If more people did the same, it wouldn’t be an entity.

    # 20 @ Afrocentric Asian_____– yOU know what I call it,I call it the Tyler Perry effect.because with his B-movies he is ushering in a new era of black exploitation ,he is giving FOX NEWS and O`Reilly, plenty of negative images and stereotypes in his films, that FOX can use to degrade and demean black people. Tyler Perry, packages, makes and sells his movies to the black community and makes big money, but his low-budget interpretations of black life are full of negative stereotypes and images of blacks, especially black women, like when Perry throws on a wig and portrays Medea as a ugly, loud and obscene black woman, and FOX will take these images and use them to portray blacks as having negative physical, social and cutural qualities

It is said what Fox is doing to tear down this black man. if these white people had any sense and could see past his color, they would realize that he is trying to make this co8untry better for everybody, not just blacks. It;s a damn shame that a president can have us invade a country for his self interest, (Bush and Oil) and have all these innocent soldiers killed and Fox did not say anything, President Obama comes along and tries to get Healthcare for everyone and there is a rally on every hill billy town in America. if this is not racism, i do not know what is. I watch Fox news because i want my kids to see the hatred out there when it comes from people like Limabaugh, Hannit, O’Reilly, Ann Coulter and I forget the other anerxic females name. I pray for the President every day and believe me, he is goping to be alright when it is said and done and will shut them all up.

Even more insulting than FOX News’ “ask a Black man if it was racist” segment is inviting on said Black man and talking over him- that is if his name is not Larry Elder or Michael Steele…or those types.

What Dr. Levitt said about FOX playing the “race deck” is only the tip of the truth iceberg. What pisses me off is that FOX produces these stories that depict overt racism but the Hannity’s and O’Reily’s (who I can only pray are far too intelligent to know better) shirk responsibility essentially saying “these nutty few are the exception and not the rule of a far right agenda”.

When interest groups can’t offer solutions they result to name calling at best and racial degradation at worst thus exposing their filthy souls. FOX News being “fair and balanced” is the most absurd motto I’ve ever heard. O’Reily and Hannity allow themselves to be used as puppets and are an embarrassment to journalists everywhere.
