Its simple to hear that Brandy was the better fit for this song. She sings with passion and complete control. Not that Beyonce was bad, the song just didnt fit her as well. Brandy filled the song with nice background vocals and great adlibs through-out. A true artist takes a song and makes it their own and thats what Brandy has done once again on this track. I don’t think that people are saying Brandy’s version is better because she is the underdog. I give Bey her props when they are due but the fact is that Beyonce is not going to sound good on every type of song she sings as most of her fans would like for people to believe. I listened to Beyonce’s song when it leaked and hated it. Brandy simultaneously brings forth a certain sexiness and tenderness that compliments the song very well and then you top it off with her signature ad-libs and she takes this song to a different level.

Her tone is on point for the beat behind her. Beyonce is coming off too hard/strong. It’s a “slow” song with a nice beat no need to come off that dramatic.
