I agree *Angie* just had to re-post exactly what you said……. Who cares if this woman is not the most beautiful person in the world. The truth is, she acted her ass off in the movie and that’s all that matters. Lets judge her based on her performances
and accomplishments, not on what she looks like. Let’s embrace our black sisters no matter how big, small, short, tall, light or dark they are. It starts with “us” supporting one another then the rest shall follow. God Bless you Gabby.

    @MEAT!

    YOU ARE A MESS! LOL

But seriously she does need to lose some weight, not healthy!

Can’t wait to see the movie!

Gabourey, it’s amazing that someone her size is being recognized for all the right reasons! Acting should be about the charcter, not how hot, sexy, or beautiful someone is. With that said, she is extremely over weight, and it’s for health reasons. Monique is big but looks much better now that she lost 60 pounds, Queen Latifa is beautiful, only with makeup on, and carries herself so well for her size, Jennifer Hudson has been looking a mess lately, but has carried herself well in the past… so down the road she will need to loose weight for health reasons, not looks.

Taraij, I really can’t stand. She’s real, but too real. She really needs to learn how to be classy, not just try to look it on the red carpet. She will always be the nasty skank from Baby Boy in my eyes. She has such an old face! She looks like the black fergie. That weave is too fake looking, it almost looks like it’s synthetic.

I can’t wait to see this movie. I’m sure it was as well acted as it was written. Props to Tyler for directing a movie while someone else told the story rather than making his own version of this well written story.

Ummm, no offense to the new chick Gabourey ‘Gabby’ Sidibe whom I am sure is mucho fab, but we only have ONE GABBY up in this piece and her last name is UNION. Plez get a new nick name.

    Thanks,

    Kind

  5. I BELIEVE GABOURNEY WILL EVENTUALLY LOSE WEIGHT, SHE HAS CUTE PIE FACE. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT TARAJI’S LOOK, WORK IT GIRL!

When we say Gabby isnt beautiful but whos standards are we measuring this? is it because she isnt think, light-skinned with long blond hair. Why do we have to ascribe to that type of beaty to get on?

On Youtube you may see there ios a programme on channel 4 called ‘The white beauty myth’ if you type that in you will see the dangers we face in trying to deracialise ourselves.

Beyonce for example has completely sold out as she makes herself lighter (or the company Loreal made her lighter for an ad campaign) and her eyes are made light with blonde hair. Everything we now worship has all be Europeanized. Gabby is a beautify African woman as is Taraji (i think she looks great by the way not like a fake wax work image like some ppl) let us DEFINE OUR OWN STANDARDS OF BEAUTY and try to see it not through conventional eyes but through the eyes of the beholders and start loving ourselves unconditionally.

I can’t wait to see this movie next week! Ugh!

    T. Penda’s shoes hurt her that night, but she’s playing it off well!

Gabourey is a big deal but I love her. Her face is so cute. Plus she is dating Common right now, so she must have something going for her!!

Speaking of big-boned or fat people – Is Angel Laws male or female?

Gabby is a big ass girl…she should NEVER wear anything that isn’t very free flowing.

    I don’t think she’s pretty.

Not because she’s dark – that’s actually a preference of mine.

But because she looks like a walking heart attack.

Regardless of what all you guys say, African Americans are more likely to have high blood pressure and diabetes, and obesity is a leading cause in both those disease.

This is not healthy and should not be embraced. We’re a community and should be helping one another to stay active for our life and future.

@ANGIE U ARE SO RIGHT!! BUT U WASTING YOUR TIME TALKING TO THESE FOOLS. THEY JUST A BUNCH OF COLOR STROKE, SELF HATING LOST SOULS.

  15. Shut Up!

I think y’all a full of ****! You care nothing about Gabourey Sidibe. You only want her to lose weight because ‘you’ are uncomfortable with the way she looks. Well that’s you all’s problem. Not hers! So don’t peddle the phony “she’s needs to lose weight for her health” line! Don’t you think she knows she needs to take off weight?!!! Your criticism of her is not helping her. She will take off the weight whenever she heals on the INSIDE! In the mean time, if you want to help her PRAY for her! For those of you who may know, or live close to her, offer to walk and exercise with her. But shut the **** up with all your second grade critiques!
