Being “Religious and Church” is not the same as being “Spiritual or Sanctified.” A person can be religious without knowing God. Just like a person can know God without being religious. The act of religion is just that…a act. We get up in the morning and religiously shower, dress, eat, and go to work.
But now, if he had sing, “There’s Something Spiritual or Sanctified About You”, then I would agree with your calling it “Blasphemous” kinda like I would call Marvin Gaye’s song “I want a Sanctified Lady”. Marvin sounded like he was on the prowl for something to corrupt or tarnish. I alway thought that song was a pivitol mistake in Marvin’s career.
In other words, things that are sanctified or spiritual are to be set apart for a higher purpose, rather than something religious or church which are the ceremony, process and structure that we use to try and get it right.
