Fresh off the success of his track with Mario and Gucci Mane, “Break Up,” Sean Garrett, who is known to some in the industry as “The Pen,” for penning many hits for several artists, is taking another stab at a solo career.
His debut album never got a formal retail release, but after his undeniable chemistry with producer, Bangladesh (they collaborated on Beyonce’s “Diva” and “Video Phone,” as well as Mario’s “Break Up,”), it seems as though Sean feels as though he’s found a formula that works for him.
The new track, “Smooches” features Atlanta native, Yung Joc.
Why do people who are already unattractive accentuate that fact by making ugly faces?

I voted “AIGHT” only because of Yung Joc’s part – wasn’t all that great but it made the song so much better.
The chorus is so annoying, like the way Sean Garrett’s doing his voice – gave me a headache.
And I don’t think I knew who he was before “Break-Up” but when I saw him in the video I was like “this man is too big to have a voice like that” – his voice does not suit his face or body.

Bangledesh is awsome. Buit i really think Sean Garett should stay behind the scene. Some people just dont have the star quality and he is one of them. Very few writers/produces can actually make the transition (Neyo, Keri), while ones like Ryan Leslie and Sean cnt.

I met Sean Garrett in person and he doesn’t look as bad as he does in the pics, but still not cute. It’s just his voice I coudn’t get past. Kind of sounds like Mike Tyson slightly. Oh, and the song is wack.
Sean Garrett is one of my FAVORITE writers out there right now. I mean I even the stuff that up and coming artists haven’t released yet. This song is cool, but I think he gives his hottest songs away, so if he is serious about being an artist. ALthough, his last single I think a lot of peeps slept on…

I agree that Sean Garrett is much better writing for other artists, not because he’s not a talented writer or anything like that because he is, but pretty much because he can’t sing AT ALL. And i’ll be damned if i bought an entire album that sounded like a chipmunk with a cold.
But as far as the star quality thing goes, sometimes that’s the case, but not always. I personally think that Ryan Leslie is an amazing producer/writer and he’s just as great as an artist. I actually take his art more seriously than i do Keri Hilson’s commercial efforts.
Your definition of “star quality” is basically having a few hit songs under your belt. Ryan Leslie has just as much, if not more, charisma & star quality as Keri, but he just hasn’t had that big breakout song yet.
Oh, I meant that if he is serious about being an artist and not only a writer, be a little selfish and keep your hottest ish for yourself.
…………….but as for this song, its horrible in my opinion. I don’t know whether it’s the beat or his voice that gave me this headache.
