Lord, how can someone turn a positive article into something negative. Someone always wants to rain on the the parade. Sheesh. If they were showing a story about a ghetto black woman, some people would still complain. You just can’t please everyone. Keep your arse at home if you don’t want to see the movie, but let everyone enjoy it.

  2. simmonsroyalty

GET IT GURL!!!! I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE MOVIE!!!

  3. JACOREY

i can`t take it no more, I done reached my last straw, if I see one more black movie about black folks suffering with their big ass rolling on the floor crying because they been abused I`m gonna personally go over to Tyler Perry`s house and kick his ass like a football over to China so he can make movies about Hong Kong Lee `s yellow ass rolling on the floor crying cause he been abused ! Why do we have to be the only people who are constantly suffering in movies !

That girl needs to lose weight immediately! For the sake of her life…you cannot be that big and healthy…and please do not say she big bone…she is fat and that is disgusting
The movie seem sreally good though and I will be seeing it!

  5. natalia

Horrible cover. I guess it serves it’s purpose because it’s certainly eye grabbing but I would have loved to see her stare the camera down instead of looking up at… I don’t know what she’s looking at.

I’ll definitely be going out to support this movie though.

  6. Lisa

    I SAW THIS MOVIE.

I was heartbroken. Mo and Mariah really brought the GOAL with this movie. I lost count of the tears i cried, i left out the movie feeling EMPOWERED.

    THIS MOVIE IS INSPIRING

  7. COLLEGE FILM DEPARTMENT

Tyler Perry , please ! please ! please ! stop making movies, or take some of the millions of dollars you have and get a education and go to a real film school and stop stealing shit from the Martin Lawrence TV show and learn how to write a decent movie., I will send you a application to film school , all you have to do is send us a copy of your GED and not the fake one that you bought over the internet and the official transcripts from the non-accredited college that you attended, which is called the Buckwheat School of Filmmaking.

  10. setian

    @ 43

He also produced a movie – The woodsman where we are supposed to ‘empathize’ with a pedophile.

  11. 2Cent

Lee Daniels is a HELLUVA producer! He makes movies that are so uncomfortably real, but you just HAVE to watch…if you’ve ever seen Monster’s Ball, The Woodsman (about a pedophile) or Shadwoboxer you know exactly what I mean. I’ll see a movie produced by him without knowing a thing about it just because it’s produced by Lee Daniels

  12. 2Cent

@ Sethian- if you thought that The Woodsman was primarily about “empathizing with a pedophile”, you weren’t paying attention.

  13. 2Cent

Black people…just crabs in a barrel.

  14. LL Cool G

i see the idiots are out in full force. it’s obvious that those complaining about movies that always show “blacks struggling” have not read the book….or other in-depth interviews or articles regarding the movie.

if all you take away from this movie is that it’s just another “black female in distress….needs help” film….you have missed the point. do not pass ‘Go’. carry your ass directly back to 9th grade.

this movie, at the end of the day, is about compassion, empathy, showing concern for our fellow man. and if you feel the black community is not in need of hearing this message…..then proceed to get on a kayak back to Africa. ignorance will get you nowhere.

i would say carry on smartly, but it’s a tad bit late for that.

  15. ZephyrLou

One of my friends has already read this book and said she cried, she laughed and she thought a lot. I haven’t had the pleasure to read it yet but I can’t wait to read it and also see the movie. I don’t think it’s coming where I live but I’m praying that it does.

  16. Been Prissy Since1908

They did that girl so wrong, she looks a BIG horrid mess!

But Mo’nique and every1 else looks good!

P.S. that mo’nique show on BET…yea it SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!

  17. Chadbertwick

why monique the only wone who looks overdone? lol

  18. DizzyGuy

She shouldn’t have gone sleeveless. Her shape alone is vivavious enough. I think It she would have had short or long sleeve gown would have gone great.

Monique is making it rain..Paula is hot..Mariah is hot..diretor is hot.

  19. Deann Dmere

Can’t wait to see the movie…i know it will be phenomenal!!!

  20. LULU

Monique is the only one serving in these pictures…I can’t wait to see this movie.

  21. Working on damn friday evening

I’ve read the book it’s excellent I love Sapphire, I’ve discovered her because of Toni Morrison. Push story is intense some might say it’s degrading black people that we need a more positive image but I think that it’s an important story to know, a lot of children are suffering in this world
anyways looking fwd to see the movie

  22. FallBackHaters

They better pick up LOADS and I mean LOADS of Oscars. It’s about time, they start giving to well deserved black films.

  23. IsIs

I feel like the only one but i’ve seen Monster’s Ball, the Woodsmen, and Shadowboxer and i didn’t like any of them, i’m not fond of any of Lee Daniels movies, this one looks ok but it seems depressing and i’m not sure i wanna cry from watching a movie, but on the other hand even tho it looks depressing it looks to be a good movie, just a sad one.

  24. ACROSS BORDERS

And what’s so wrong with a black hippie (esp. if he can direct a film that’s got so many people talking)?
