Hmmm. I like Alicia but I’m one of the few that never liked ‘No One’ so the fact that this song sounds like’No One’ version 2, gets the mute button from me. When it comes on my station, i pull my ear buds out or press mute. Not feeling it and it isnot doing well on Itunes- folks aren’t buying it- it’s bee out of top 100 and spins hae slowed.

Love her on Empire state of mind but not feeling Doesn’t really matter at al. Didn’t care for her hair game in the video but what can I say. Get another song out, which i think she has and quick.

I usually love your comments and your icon! And you can have your opinions. But My view is that Alicia did not break up any marriage. I think some people just are bored and want to invent things because Alicia’s image is so clean.
But the fact of the matter is that Swizz was separated from his wife before he started seeing Alicia. And whatever the issues are with Swizz and his wife that drama has nothing to do with Alicia. Swizz’s wife put everything she had into Swizz and Swizz supported her and their family but when the relationship was over she felt she had nothing. And women is this position will attack any woman who their X plans on seeing and to have Alicia be the next women she found the need to attack her and write these long comments on twitter. These are the actions of a desperate woman and I’m a little tired of reading comments from other women who can relate to the jilted woman situation and attack Alicia. This is between Swizz and his X. Not Alicia. If a man want to leave or let’s say he wants to Cheat you don’t then attack the other woman as so many women want to do. You attack the man who made the vows with you. That is where the blame is to be found and if he wants out..let him go. Find a new man who wants to value you and stop blaming others.

I’m glad that I am not the only one. To tell you the truth, I was never a fan of Alicia Keys. I only bought her Diary of Alicia Keys album because of 2 songs I liked, and out of all of those songs on there, I ended up only liking 5! Her music sucks. It has no real emotion or depth like how Mariah Carey’s album has (the ones in the 90’s) or Jill Scott’s albums… or even Christina Aguilera’s albums. Every single song sounds a like. I only liked her becase I thought that she was a true class act, but that turned out wrong. People say no one knows what happens, it doesn’t matter, she’s so charitable, but yes it does matter. I can’t stand people who are hypercrites or contradict themselves. Just because you give to the world doesn’t excuse your hurtfulness to someone’s marriage! It’s sinful and just morally wrong. Why can’t people understand that? It’s extremely ODD to be so charitable, but then have no remorse for hurting someone’s marriage and kids. Even if he wasn’t talkig to Mashonda, so what… his a** is still married. Everybody knows that couples seperate and go back to each other. If he was really through with her, why didn’t he get divorce or was in the middle of one? It’s that simple. You don’t just up and leave without making it final. It makes no sense.

Anyway, homewrecker or not, she can technically sing, but her tone is too loud and scatchy and she shouts more than she hits high notes!

Why are we all complaining and hating on Ms. Keys?? I think some of you are just haters in general…just like black people to recycle our talented black performers faster then their actual garbage UGH! cant take it anymore! I actually like this song and yes it is similar to No One but at the same time its catchy and the lyrics are SO real! I mean 4real now didnt Beyonce’s Single Ladies sound JUST like Get Me Bodied?? But yet it turned into a internet craze and had everybody singing the song though…just shut up ya’ll and enjoy the music and stop being SO negative damn!

I’m with #80 Leah, I don’t like this song, but Alicia sings the hell out of “Empire State Of Mind”…the way she sings “In Neeeeeeeeeeeew Yooooooooork”… I swear, I tear up, cause she put her heart in that one as a straight up New Yorker!

I’m really not going to buy her album. She basis her music as coming from the soul and being real but her messing with a married man is so opposite of her “superwoman” ways she claims to have. Now that everybody says Mariah’s album is hot i’m going to have to cop it. I forgot it came out. When is Fantasia dropping an album? I miss her voice.

LOL…. How is this any different from the bs that Usher or Chris Brown went thru? You are all saying that an artist’s personal life is none of our business, etc. etc. are hypocrites yourselves. Clearly, you care b/c you check out gossip blogs and so forth correct? Anyway, no matter your opinion on that… the fact is… relatability is a huge factor as to why artists garner fans and why they lose them. That is just the nature of the business. When you are a fan of an artist, you research them. And when their music is a background to their personal life, it makes them more relatable… hence why Mary J Blige has been around for so long. So to say.. Oh, not supporting AKeys due to her personal life is not realistic. After all, the hardcore fans/stans that support her every album have identified with her personality, her craft yes, but also the image that she has proclaimed. Some fans’ like her enough to where this bad press won’t affect them, others are turned off by it. That’s just how it is.

The problem with A. Keys is NOT that she may or may not be a homewrecker. It’s b/c this contradicts the image she projects. And thus, it gives her a phony appeal which makes her unrelatable. The same reason why people have a hard time responding to Beyonce… she is viewed as “fake”. In order to be successful in an industry like this where you are selling your product — and your product is in affect, YOURSELF (your talent, your stage appeal, your appearance, etc.) you have to maintain integrity…. You are really at the beck n call of how the people perceive you. So yes, your personal life matters…. and one must realize this if they wish to hold any position in the public eye.

What image does she project? Last time I checked it’s the people who made her out to be a saint. Yes, she does charities and is a philanthropist and whatnot, but she never claimed to be a saint. A superwoman, yes, but superwomen make mistakes. She still sings about being in love and being heartbroken. It’s still from the heart. Never have I heard her sing ‘I am a saint, I am perfect, I would never fall in love with a married man’. NEVER.
