Why not compare him to Teddy P. They have that same sound. Jaheim is an excellent singer. He just not had the best PR team behind him. I would love to see more of him.

i like this!… you can tell his sound has grown! (and i love the picture too! nice watch! lol)
i’ve loved him since i was 11 years old (19 now) lol
the beat in the beginning sounded like something from an early D’angelo… whom i miss so much!…
im glad r&b singers are claiming what’s theirs from auto tune-exhausting “rappers turnt singers”… ;]

I loved Jaheim and I really was feeling his music up to now. Now I’m REALLY feeling. I see this song getting play in Mature Clientele clubs as well as on radio, tv. This is a great sound for him. Not to stuffy, it’s real funky. It’s giving me that “Step In the Name of Love’ vibe. Everyone could jam.
Damn, my grandma bought his last album. That’s saying something.
Now, where’s D’Angelo. I want to get the party started/

I heard “Anything” on the radio earlier today and was reminded of how his voice is missing in the game. I’m a big fan but this song is just okay. I prefer him singing slower jams. Nonetheless Im looking forward to his album.

There aren’t many male vocalists out (or female for that matter) that can sing. I’ve always liked his voice & yes he’s always reminded me of Teddy Pendergrass. I just wish the beat wouldn’t have been a sample. I’m sick and tired of sampled tracks.

I always felt that the young Teddy Pendergrass was Christopher Williams, who also should be in the game right now. He and Jahiem are two SANGIN brothers.
My cousin and I were just discussing this last night, where are the brothers who can really sing? Calvin Richardson is another one, although I don’t like his new cover album, but I loved his first CD.
I also mentioned Jaheim, so I’m glad he’s back. I’ m with Crooklyn, bring back real R&B grown and sexy music back!

Always been a fan of Jaheim. The lil sampled bassline is to endear us oldheads. That’s from an old DE LA SOUL single, even part of the hook/chorus: Hey, how ya doin? Glad that brotha’s back on the scene. I always play one or two of his jawns when I’m deejaying grown folks events. That BEAUTY AND A THUG collabo with MJB is one of my faves!!!

He does sound like Teddy P. , but I think that the biggest difference between Jaheim and old school artists like Teddy,Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder ! is that the old school artists wrote and sang much more sophisticated songs that today`s singers, Besides romantic ballads, they sang songs about how mankind was destroying the environment or why is our government sending our young people off to war to die or about police brutality or anti-Republican political songs, they had a much greater social awareness than today`s singer`s have, And although,Jaheim can sing and he is talented,he needs better material and variety, this song is very average! and lacks the sophistication of a Teddy P. or Stevie Wonder !

I love this! Very catchy, fresh and great vocals of course! I understand what poster #72 is talking about. I would love to hear him exercise more range and take on a broader direction in his music. But you know a lot of these artist don’t really have any serious creative freedom. Music is just a production line with artists being put into their respective categories and released without promo or fanfare. But I do like this song.
