NEW MUSIC: LIL’ WAYNE & SHANELL - “MOST WANTED ROCKSTAR”

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

♫ Lil’ Wayne feat. Shanell - Most Wanted Rockstar
ALTERNATE LINK

If you thought Lil’ Wayne’s plans to release a rock album had come to a screeching halt, then you were mistaken. He’s been in the studio with Young Money signee, Shanell, churning out tunes for the often delayed release.

Check out this new material from his seventh studio album, Rebirth, which will immediately be followed by an eighth, The Carter IV.

Rebirth has had a few complications with release dates, after the release of the album’s first single, “Prom Queen,” but will finally hit stores December 15th, before Weezy has to go behind bars, a couple months after.

This sounds good on sum rock tyoe ish I like…but what can i say I have ecelectic taste in music. He has to be careful how this type of meshing of music is done but this isnt a bad job.. Remember “All about the benjamins remix” it was done right..

i forgot to add that wayne needs to stop with this rock album concept. he’s good with his genre but i wouldn’t consider him to be creative enough to pull off the rock thing. i feel like lupe fiasco could. maybe i’m aslo biased b/c i hate the type of rock that he chose to focus on- if i want rock, i’ll listen to the clash or radiohead or something. i HATE this slightly metal approach that he’s taking. he literally chose the most stagnant form of rock to rap over- those metal people have been stuck in the same place for years

I think this album was a good idea for the moment. I don’t think he should release this album, it’s going to flop and bring his status way down. He’s better off releasing “The Carter IV” and have the rock tracks on a bonus CD. There is no way anybody is buying two Wayne albums in one year, and there is no way anybody is actually feeling him being a rock-star. The ROCK STAR FAD IS SOOOO OVER!

Well from the first comments I see Ima have to pass in listening to this track. Hope Wayne goes against his grain and gets his writing on in prison cause hes gonna need to make alot of good music once he gets out to even try and stay in the game.

The production is really good and it fits his voice, but what makes me frustrated is all of these rappers/singers who have jumped on the hip-hop/rock bandwagon! That’s just like Britney Spears switching from Dance/Pop music to India Arie Soul music. It’s fine to be creative with music, but if you’re a true R&B, POP, SOUL, HIP-HOP artist, please don’t ever loose that in your music. I’m so sick of Lil Wayne, he’s extremely overrated. All you here is his voice on the radio.
